A Murder Foiled ...... a rescue
"After first meeting Henry Stavely long ago in The Elusive Miss Wakefield, I was drawn to read this snippet from that fantastically complicated story. I was not disappointed! Here, he is the youth, who rescues a completely innocent man from an undeserved and gruesome death. This man then takes this lad to his home, where he meets his family, three daughters who immediately sense the first stirrings of love. The detail, as young Henry draws each of these young ladies, is as magnificent as in all stories by this author. Brilliant as usual."

"Why is it happening is the rivalry between the inheritor and the second brother but when it comes to the youths there is hatred most pitiful and I think that is the pity of it all. That one can kill someone and not even think about it. It is chilling it is unnerving it is obviously the thing to do back than and the manly thing to be. But the thing is it is frightening."
