The day I moved in
Inspired by Sam. M
The day was wet and Stormy as a small blue car drives on the road. The boy was talking to his father, asking simple questions. “ Is the house really that big!’’ the blond boy asked. By now the boy’s father was rightly annoyed. “ For the last time yes Chris !” the annoyed father loudly says. With that Chris huffs softly. “ sorry dad” the male mumbled. He glanced out the window seeing the old towns sign. “GREENWOOD’’ the sign was oddly rusty. Chris pulled out his phone scrolling through Instagram. Chris glanced out the window looking at all the town had to offer. As they pulled up on Alu Street and down a rocky path. To his astonishment, their house was right on the edge of the grove. They pulled up to an old Victorian fashion home. It was big for only two people sadly his mother and sister wouldn’t be joining them like plan due to the separation. A breeze soon picked up, he looked up at his father.
“ well this swell,” Chris says a bit sneeringly. Making his father raises an eyebrow. “ I know that this is a big change but it’s for the best. Kat will be seeing us on the weekends.” The tall male says with a slight smile. “ Now, help me get unpacked.” Chris nodded and shuffled around to the side of the car to the trunk. He opened the trunk looking inside observing witch looked less heavy. Chris, of course, picked the smaller box first. He hoisted the box and turns around. The boy leaped out of his skin almost. Seeing an older male. Chris blinks for seconded. The male had an oddly sympathetic smile. “So you must be the child who moved in here huh?’’ The older male asked as he brushed back his brown hair. Chris nodded, knowing it reasonably not the best to talk to strangers. This boy seemed a tad peculiar to the young 7th grader. He was tall, well decorated and that simper seemed to off for Chris’s taste. Maybe it just that Chris can be a bit sour to new people. Interesting enough after a bit of stillness among them, the more grown boy spoke once more “ My name is Oak, Oak homes.” Chris quietly spoke, “ I am Chris Ople…’’ Chris soon turns on his heel and started to walk to the stairs. Oak follows the younger male. “ Is your pa home?” Chris paused in his steps and shot him a scowl at the 15-year-old. “No duh Sherlock, He is still in the car.” Oak didn’t genuinely care for that reply too much. “ Ah, my bad” Oak grumbled. “Shouldn’t you be on your way?” Chris asked. It was rather disturbing that Oak was trailing him wherever. Chris puts his hand on Chris’s arm. And strolled outside of the house. “ what a creep” the boy stated with a sigh. His father soon came inside questioning “Who was that?” the boy shrugs slightly “ I don’t know and sincerely don’t care”. Mr. Ople sighs softly, “ maybe he is the delightful family’s son that lives next to us? Down the street?” Chris stands up, walking outside to grab more boxes He hums softly as he brought the rest inside. Chris and Mr.Ople started to unpack. By the time they were finished, It was already lunchtime. Looking at the clock Mr. Ople sighed. " After lunch, I need to go get some things for my new project." The tired male says. Chris got up he started to walk to the kitchen when something made him come to a complete stop. There was food already on the table? " what the hell?" Chris mumbled.
