The story.

Once upon a time, there was a farmer. He noticed that his dog was getting too old to protect his animals. The farmer went to town to get to get a younger dog, a puppy. After picking the bist one, he went back to his truck and went home.

The puppy was very excited and very happy to have a new home. He jumped, and ran, and was very, very, happy. He went to the sheep to say hello. The sheep charged at him, he got scared and ran away saying, "I dont need to be friends with you!".

He went to the chicken coop to say hello. The roosters pecked at his nose and hurt him, so he ran away. Saying, "I dont need to be friends with you!"

He went to the old dog, he sniffed around, then the older dog growled at him and scared him away saying, "I dont need to be friends with you either...."

He decided to go see the farmer, but the farmer yelled at him for putting his muddy paws on his sunday pants. The puppy got scared, and ran away. Then the farmer

called the puppy, he came right away, and was excited to play with the farmer. But the farmer tied him up and told him not to run away. The puppy sat there, kind of sad now. Then a bee flew by. The puppy said hello and tried to play with the bee. The bee stung his nose and flew away.

The puppy, now in pain from the bee sting, said, "I dont think we should be friends." He went to the dog house and layed down.

He wasnt excited at all, he was sad. Nobody wanted to be his friend, no one wanted to play with him. It started to rain, which didnt help.

He watched a frog hop across the yard. He said hello, but the frog hopped faster till it got to the swamp. He set his head on his paws and whimpered to himself.

A mosquito flew up to him, looking for a snack. The puppy didnt shake it off or bite at it. After the puppy sat uncomfortably, the mosquito said thanks and left.

The puppy wasnt happy, he was itchy, cold, and very sad. "Idont need to be friends with you." He wined.

Every mosquito came from near and far to feast on the puppy who didnt fight back. Soon the puppy grew tired of it, he had enough, every mosquito in the country was feeding off of him.

It was about three o'clock now, the rain had stopped. He sat up when he heard a rumble sound, he looked towards it and saw a yellow bus.

Getting off the bus was a boy, he was sad too. The puppy didnt want the boy to be sad, so he barked. The boy looked at him, the puppy sat down and knew the boy wouldn't like him, no one else did. Except the Mosquitoes.

The boy pet the little dogs head and crouched near him. The puppy looked up at him, he was smiling now. "I need a friend." Said the boy.

The puppy kicked his hand. The boy laughed and said, "I'll take that as a yes."

The boy sat down in the mud and help the pup close, and whispered secrets into his ear. The boy scratched behind the puppy's ear and laughed as the pup licked his face.

The farmer came out of the house, he was upset. He took the boy inside because he was covered in mud.

The puppy was sad again, the only friend he ever had was just taken away from him. The puppy went back to sleep, I side his little house.

Later that night, the boy came out again, he carried a blanket and a pillow. He climbed into the small dog house that was filled with straw and snuggled with the puppy. "He's gonna be so mad." The boy laughed.

The puppy whimpered close to him and licked his face. "Its okay pup."

"You are my friend." Said the puppy as the boy put his arm over the small dog.

"And you are mine." Said the boy as he yawned and fell asleep.

The End.
