Chapter 1

The 8th of April 2020

I don’t know she screamed. He moved his head away from hers. Still at arm’s length. He placed a single finger on her kneecap. His fingertip moved up her leg. Slowly closing in on her inner thigh. She clinched, “come on, play along,” he said. His fingers danced on her skinny leg. Every touch made her flinch. The further his finger up, the more she tightened, her teeth came under immense pressure. She screamed once again. He removed his hands, she made a relieved sigh, as she watched him walk over to the small sink.

He made sure to be constantly moving. Keeping her guessing what he would do next. He dropped his hands in the red water. He scrubbed the entire sink with his large hands. He counted the seconds in his head, as he reached 30 he took them out, the end of his pink silk shirt was drenched. He moved gently through the room, dripping all the way. The closer he got, the louder she screamed.

He stopped in front of her, bent down and stretched his neck. Their noses touched. Jessi… Jessi… Jessi. I should have known. He placed his right hand firmly on her face. The bloody water ran down her cheek, it looked like she was crying tears of blood. Her body was shivering, his hand was completely still. You… I DIDN’T DO IT, the power of her voice made his hair blowback. He smiled, without showing his teeth. He lifted his hand in front of his own face, he licked back his hair. The reddish color spread quickly through his thin black curls. She closed her eyes, she couldn’t watch. He walked back once more.

He put his left hand into his right back pocket. Fumbled around a little. He lifted up a box of matches. He looked at it with childish joy, pointing with his right index finger, look! She nodded, that’s cool. He smiled, still, no teeth, wanna see something even cooler? She sighed. He ran to the corner, lifted a green bucket. He ran with his back bent and legs out wide like he was riding a small pony. The liquid spilled as he carried it. He set it down, still standing with his legs spread, staring at her. He put his pinky finger in the liquid, lifted it and slowly made sure his entire right eyebrow was drenched. He lit a match and moved the small torch up. She looked at him, what are you doi - The fire touched one of his small hairs – wof – the sound was rapid, the entire brow ignited as soon as it touched the gasoline. The brow was gone. He showed his teeth, smiling. You’re fucking crazy she yelled.

He opened his mouth licking the bottom of his incisors. Now wasn’t that cool? He said while making his way behind her. He tightened the rope around her wrists, she grunted. See I did something for you… now… now you do something for me. He spoke louder, what I want you to do, I want you to. To his voice became even louder and significantly deeper: SPEAK. The hairs on her back rose, but her eyes never moved, she kept looking straight.

He started laughing. Chuckling. He made the way around her, facing her. Her face was still red. See this… He clicked his tongue this thing right here hit pointed first at him then at here just isn’t fair. He turned towards the bucket of gasoline. Dipped his thumb this time. You must have heard the saying an eye for an eye. He licked his thumb, then his lips and placed it back into the bucket. Well, this… he started chuckling again this is a brow for a brow.

He forced his finger into her mouth, ripped her blonde hair back. He could feel her tongue trying to push his finger out. Listen, bitch, he said while starring into her blue eyes you wanna do this the hard way? Huh? Because I looooove the hard way. He awaited a response, grabbed her tighter. Nothing. He let go. Grabbed the bucket, dipped the same thumb again. Then slowly he made sure the gasoline was fully integrated into her brow, then he lit another a match. Walked back a few steps, stretched his arm: Wof. She screamed, not like before. The pitch was higher. He looked at her for a while, admiring his masterpiece, he made a square using his index fingers and thumbs. Uhhhhh, look at that! Is that a new look? Huh, Jessi? Her head was facing down, she didn’t want to give him the satisfaction of letting him see her entire face. She didn’t want him to see the sadness in her eyes as she imagined how she looked. She spat a lot, she was gasping for air.

She looked up only for a few seconds, Will… William told me two weeks ago. He skipped a beat in his walk, talking to himself Ohhh willy he said. He leaned back at the moveable garage door, closed his eyes, the back of his head touched the wall. Aight, enough fun, and games, he clapped his hands twice. Details Jessi, details now or whatdoyouknow we might get a hold of little bobby. Jessica looked up from the ground, Stop Toko, she didn’t blink, stop that shit right now. Oh see there’s a reaction, Toko started walking in a small circle, he picked his phone up. Raised his hand in front of his mouth, masking his words. He nodded while listening to the call. After a minute or so he slammed the flip phone down. Opened his mouth, waited, Olive ave huh? A nice little condo for your momma. She stared him down as he paced back and forth. Bobby has his own playroom there? She bit her under lip, Don’t.. mention… his… name. Toko stopped walking briefly. Details Jessi… details will make me stop. He put his hands together like he was praying, then lifted them to sides like he was holding magic just. Make this whooole thing stop.

Jessi sat there, her mouth moving without sound. Toko closed up on her, he had the gasoline bucket with him. He bent down, his finger made small circles in the liquid. You don’t want to lose both? Do you? He said while pointing at her left brow.

Jessi put her head back and spit right into the bucket, she stared at his fingers, William told me about the sabotage. They had been planning it for three months. Him, Dan, and Bay. Toko took his finger up from the liquid, placed it under his nose and took a deep breath. He felt his brain cells sizzle. He loved the smell, his left palm dragged down his entire face. His breathing was picking up heavily, Jessica could hear the air as it left his nostrils. Bay?! He exclaimed. Yes, Bay. Jessica was subtle but serious, come on Toko. Can’t you see it? He has been using you. Toko’s movement picked up. He was shaking his head, mumbling to himself. He raced back to the table, stood nearby the sink. He had his back to Jessica, she observed him. He put his right hand in the small pocket of his bloody apron. A little bag appeared from the pocket, he threw it on the table. He took one of his favorite botching knives, speared it through the bag. He sniffed all the coke that stayed on the knife. He did this another time, then one more. He turned around with a different look in his eyes. Jessica knew this look; she had seen it before. BAY!! A small tear appeared in his eye. He charged towards Jessi, with a firm grip on the knife, his face was red and the veins above his temples were throbbing.

Jessica’s eyes widened, Take it easy Toko, you wanted the truth she yelled. He stopped, right in front of her. Caught his breath, your right. The truth… I did want the truth. Jessica took a deep breath. The truth Toko mumbled to himself, then he lifted the bucket, turned it towards Jessica, used both his arms to make sure that the gas would travel far enough through the air, and watched as she from one moment to the other became covered in gasoline. Jessica started screaming again but this time she didn’t stop. She was dripping wet. She kept blinking, but the burning wouldn’t go away. What the fuck Toko! I was helping. She started freaking out, her legs were kicking in every direction trying to hit him. He stood there soaking the moment in, then he kicked the leg of the chair, she hit the grey asphalt ground hard. She laid there tied down, like an injured animal in the savannah. He sat down on top of her. Spit in her face. Bay wasn’t a part of this, was he? Jessica took a deep breath, then she nodded. Toko pulled his gun out of his holster. Aimed it at her face, Jessica was still blinking and couldn’t see much, but still she couldn’t miss the gun. She tried to fight him off, but she didn’t have her hands free and his enormous weight on top of her slight frame made it impossible for her to move. She tried to thrust her pelvis, but it did nothing. He sat there looking like a sumo wrestler bullying a spectator, laughing hysterically. The truth Jessi, tell me the truth he yelled while still laughing. Desperate, trying to make sure that the last thing she would see on this earth wouldn’t be a fat thin-haired Asian man through burning eyes, she yelled back Bay fucked you over. He did it, it was all on purp – Toko pulled the trigger – hit her twice in the head. The blood spread quickly on the floor. He pulled out his phone again (still on top of her), pressed the numbers, Yes, the garage now. The guy on the other line was talking, Toko interfered, Just do it now, clean it up. He threw the phone on the floor and stepped on it. Shattering it. He grabbed his back of coke and as he was about to leave the scene. He turned around and shot her four times. One bullet in each of her breasts and the final two in her vagina.
