All Rights Reserved ©

Summary

This is the world of the 23rd century. The world of the future. Location? Locksley City, the biggest and most dangerous place in the world. 98% of the City are penniless, the rest are dirty rich. Gribbler and his son Demson are the richest and most powerful of all the citizens. They steal from the poor and give to the rich. The poor citizens are left to die, having no money, no work, and no anything. My name is Robin. My parents were killed like many others by Gribbler, and I believe, actually I know that someone has to end his horrible rulership. But who? With so much power the dreaded leader would be hard if not impossible to defeat. I will remove his throne, even if I die in the process. But I can't do this alone. I need allies, and lots of them. Being only 16, many people have their doubts, but they won't stop me.

"Hood!" 'Great! I haven't finished yet.' I thought as I turned around to see three strong guards running up to me. 'This should be easy enough' I complemented myself. Ok, just wait for the right time. '3...2...1...NOW!' Taking out my pea shooter I shot a laser ball at the closest leaver on a control board about ten meters away. Instantly the floor beneath me collapsed and I started falling at who knows what speed. I'd done this jump on so many heists that it was just normal, so normal that I went into a skydiving position by habit. The trap door was for disposing of anything unwanted by the rich citizens. But for me it was an escape exit, for the many times I'd taken from the store house.

The rich citizens were cruel and...Well...Snobbish. They thought of us poor folks as nothing more than animals, or more precisely rodents. Due to their increasing richness and our increasing poverty we were forced to eat anything they could get our hands on.

I looked around my not so clear surroundings, my long red hair flying in my eyes dispite the hood I was wearing. One of the problems with this exit was the constant fog, so thick you could only see the occasional rope or crate. I waited until I could see a rope, the rope that I always used to swing on and land, but it never came. I kept falling and I grew suspicious. I should have reached the rope by now. I waited a few seconds before deciding to use plan B.

I closed my arms to the side of my body and grabbed both the handles on my suit, one on the outside of each leg. At a quick and equal speed, I opened my arms again, but this time I had two triangular pieces of cloth connected to my legs and I held the loose ends with my hands. This was, as I liked to call it...The Squirrel, or more commonly known as a flight suit.

I glided in the rough direction of the city Square of 'Dumpsville'. I say roughly as I'd never glided here before and the fog was so thick that even if I had I wouldn't know exactly where I was going.

I was surrounded by fog for a good five or six minutes before it cleared. As I hoped, right in front of me was the center of 'dumpsville', and like usual it was full of people. Lots of people. I only had one option as the center was the only place to land for miles without entering Fort Richard.

As the center drew closer, I saw some heads turn my way and people shouting to move, and soon enough, the square was empty. The people who had been there were standing around the edges or in nearby lanes and roads waiting to crowd in on me when I landed. 'I just love all the attention.' I thought sarcastically.

"Hood!" Was heard from many people as they crowded around me. Some more shouts were heard. "What have you got?!"

"I need some medicine?"

And so on. "You all know how I do things!" I shouted. Some quietened but many kept shouting. "You have to get what you want from Robin." I heard sighs and groans from the crowd. "Why Robin?" One shouted.

"She's just a clumsy girl who otherwise is always getting in the way!"

Many of the people nodded or shouted in agreement. It crushed my heart hearing things like this, but it was true.

No-one knew my true identity as 'Hood'. That was my secret. There were many theories to whom I was but the most common one was that I was a woman in my twenty's from a neighbouring town.

As soon as I got the chance, leaving any questions unanswered, I ran through the crowd, and kept running and checking if anyone was following until I reached my base. It was more or less a pile of rubble, but I had used poles and sticks to support it so that inside was a reasonably large room. The door was a piece of corrugated steel that I placed over the hole that served as an entrance. From anyone outside it wouldn't look anything more than the rubble of a collapsed building, which it technically was.

Inside was dark and not that cosy, but it served its purpose. On the far side of the base was a medium sized makeshift chest and a big chest. The medium sized chest was where I kept my clothes, the set that I wasn't wearing at the time. Currently, inside was my casual clothes, the ones that I would wear when I wasn't stealing from the rich residents. The big chest was where I stored the supplies that I would later hand out.

I quickly got changed into my casual clothes which simply consisted of a black pair of tight jeans littered in holes and tears of various sizes and a white short sleeved t-shirt that wasn't in much of a better state. Another problem with these clothes was that they were too small, making them extra tight, and also very hard to put on. I used to have a hoodie to keep warm, but that disappeared, and a pair of shoes and socks, but again they had disappeared some timeago. Now I always had to walk around barefoot and cold. My long red hair was loose down to just above my hips, and my bright green and blue eyes shone bright. You see, my eyes had two colours. The bottom half of my eyes were bright green, and the top half were dark blue. I was proud of them because I had never met anyone else with eyes like mine, not even in a different colour.

I went to the bigger chest and took all the contents out. I started to plan who would get what. After about half an hour I had completed organising and planning it all. Now all I had to do was deliver them.
