Difficult Dreams-Nat
Sometimes I wonder if dreams can somehow become a reality, or if visions can be seen within a dream. Experiences like the ones I have faced shake me a bit, and I can never run away from them, like they’re calling out to me in a way I can’t handle.
I opened my eyes quickly as if I had just awoken from a dream, I began make my way through the dark forrest where the energy grew darker and darker, making me feel weaker every step of the way. Where was everyone? My sister, My father, And boyfriend? I tried to shout for everyone but the sound did not come out like I was in a world where all you could hear was your breathes. I could only communicate through thought but I felt empty and alone like all that I held dear was being taken away from me. Somehow through all of this I continued to walk through the forrest wanting to somehow find an end, when suddenly my body froze in place. I noticed a dark blurry figure and My heart began beating super fast as if it was about fly out of my chest, in front of me was a vision that I did not wish to see, it was Valkine standing only a few inches in front of me with my mom laying lifeless on the floor. I could feel the tears burn as they fell down my cheeks I was too late and my mother, the one who gave me up to protect me was gone.
"Noooo!" I woke up to me shouting as my voice echoed throughout the whole camp, waking everyone from their sleep. It was still nighttime, but Carter, Beat, and my father rushed in along with some others. Beat ran to my side and began to embrace me asking me if I was alright, while Carter sat in front of me holding my hand. " It was a dream? But it all seemed so real," I said as tears ran down my cheeks, it hurt that I had to see that, but at least it wasn’t the truth.
"I understand that some dreams seem so real, but thankfully this was just a dream. You must always know that I will always be by your side, even when I’m not physically there," Carters words made all my my fears disappear I knew that I would never be alone as long as my family was with me.
" Yes darling, you will never be alone, but because of these dreams that are happening constantly and the lack of sleep, i'm afraid you will not be able to travel with us to find your mother. The stress is too much for you to handle, i'm sorry my daughter," my father said in his deep kingly voice as he walked out of my room unable to maintain eye contact . From that point on I felt completely useless, why was I having these dreams? Why was I chosen to feel this kind of pain? I felt like something was trying to hold me back, like it didn’t want me to fulfill I much needed destiny.
"I'm sorry Nat, if you would like me to stay with you then i'll…” Beat began, I have been called Nat ever since my father came back into our lives, I felt like I needed to better suit my position, and from then on it just stuck ever since.
"No!" I interrupted Beat before she could finish her sentence. " I want you to go, they need all the help they can get, and Carter don't worry about me I can care for myself," I told him before he could testify, he’s best known as the overprotective boyfriend. Beat walked out with a sad look on her face I felt her sadness, and knew she wanted to spend more time with me since we haven't been with each other most of our lives.
Carter was still there, and I guess he noticed how depressed I was about this certain situation. "Nat, why don’t you get dressed? The sun is rising and it’s a perfect time for my special surprise,I'll be right back," Carter said as he ran out of my room, whatever he had planned, he was definitely excited about it. I quickly got out of bed, and put on a fancy outfit, and my favorite new perfume made by my fellow fairy subjects. When I walked out of my room there was Carter wearing his best clothes holding the most beautiful bouquet of flowers that glowed like the moonlight cascading over the waters. He walked up to me and handed me the bouquet, And gave me a kiss on the head " Ok, so the next part is a surprise it is okay if I cover your eyes?" He asked in the cutest way possible.
" Is there anything I need to be afraid of?" I asked him trying to make him nervous under pressure, but he quickly disagreed. I knew that he was telling the truth because his cheeks began to turn red, I could tell that he was about to burst at any moment, so I let him off the hook. He covered my eyes with a white cloth that smelled like blossoms, and then he grabbed my hands and led me somewhere, with each step I could tell we were getting further and further. His grasp was so firm and gentle at the same time I knew that he would alway be able to protect me, and comfort me at the same time.
We suddenly came to an abrupt stop, I was a bit confused and nervous at the same time." Wait a second I have to get this ready for you," I nodded at what he said, I could hear him moving around and my heart began race like a horse, I couldn't wait to see what he had planned. " Ok!” He paused a moment and there were a few seconds of silence “Oh yeah," he said as he began to untie the cloth from around my head, and I felt chills every second. When I finally saw what was before me my heart nearly melted it was a dinner built for two in front of the river where I discovered my powers.
