Monday Mornings suck

She was late for school, forgot to eat breakfast, missed her biology test, and now she was being chased.

Faith Prescott absolutely hated Monday mornings.

Faith wasn't an athletic person by nature but you wouldn't know that by the way she ran down the street as if her life was in danger.

coincidentally it was.

She frantically jumped over a fallen trash bin as three creatures that were taller than a building came bounding around the corner, their beady eyes trained on her and her only. Faith turned around and shuddered.

Way to go dumbass you just had to play the hero didn't you? Her conscience screamed at her as she recalled the small boy who she diverted the monsters' attention from. Faith tried to ignore the voice and failed. What the hell was she thinking?

Faith ran faster as the monster drew near and looked around. People walked up and down the city streets at a leisurely pace, while some looked at her weirdly. It was as if they couldn't see the monsters at all.

She pushed the thought to the back of her head and ran into the park. She ran past the rusty playground devoid of children and into the secluded part of the park, littered with trees.

"Fucking shit!" Faith said aloud as she tripped over a stray tree root and landed face first onto the muddy ground. She looked down annoyed at her now dirty school uniform before the monsters burst through the foliage, it's red eyes gleaming. Faith scrambled back against a tree.

"Well, well, well look what we have here." Faith flinched away from the monsters' pungent odors. "Playtime's over little one, time for us to eat!"

The monsters leaned in close and Faith could feel their hot breath on her face. She gagged at the smell of rotting flesh.

"I-I'm really about to die." Faith thought in disbelief. She wasn't ready, she wanted to live longer. She wanted to do something with her life. "This can't be happening!"

Faith flinched as one of the monsters raised it's long claws, in position to swipe and closed her eyes. She knew the claws would rip her body to shreds and could only hope that her death would happen instantly.

"Time to say goodbye girlie!" The monster laughed as he brought his claw down upon her and Faith screamed for her life.

A loud thump was heard as a girl dropped down from the canopy. Her abnormally blue hair flowed out behind her as she landed on the ground.

The mysterious girl pulled out several glass bottles and sprinkled the liquid on the monsters before her. "Holy water bitches! This is an exorcism!" She cackled.

Faith sat frozen as the monsters' skin blistered and burned. They soon melted and all that was left of the creatures were three stones littered with jewel fragments.

Nobody could've blamed her for fainting.
