Chapter 1

God doesn’t make mistakes. He is entirely composed of perfection and precise decision making. Everything that has happened in our world and that has yet to happen has occurred for a reason. It occurs so that other things in our world flow perfectly. Like a complicated jigsaw puzzle that if done incorrectly will result in mass destruction and misalignment in the universe. A child might think of a rose. This thought is the child’s, yes. But, it has come to their mind as a result of fate. Fate, plays a role in life so important, so extremely crucial to our existence that there is nothing left for chance. The issue with fate, however is exactly that. Nothing is left for chance. So, the following story is not to be read by the faint of heart. It is about three souls whom have left fate behind, resulting in many adventures, and many more loses. So, shall we begin?

This particular winter afternoon, in 1910, snow bruised the cobblestone path he’d walked on. His blue fiddler cap catching snowflakes on the rim.

“A nice day.” he spoke, his breath a foggy cloud.

The man raised his head, and pushed his hat back so he could see the bleached sky. A frosty smile escaped his lips before he heard shoes tip-tapping towards him. They were light steps, small and precise, so they must’ve been a woman’s. The man turned.

“Good evening, Miss.” He tipped his hat to the young lady that stood before him. She was rather short, maybe around 15, (Then again, his guess of age wasn’t very good nowadays) and had brown hair done in a way that complimented her pearly skin and small stature.

“Hello,” the woman spoke, fiddling with her leather gloves, “I…” she stuttered, “My name is Felicity Jones.”

The man stared at her, was he supposed to know who she was? Then, all of sudden, like a crashing wave, it came to him. Jones. Balen Jones.

She uttered the words he dreaded, “My father’s name was Balen Jones.” She bit her lip to hold back tears. “You killed him.”

Elysiagems: Hi Marcy,I went into The Pack - On the Run bracing myself for the usual "oops, I’m a werewolf clichés, but then Josie’s dad decided to skip the Father of the Year awards and go full-blown villain at a petrol station. Honestly, I didn’t expect to be nodding along with the tension instead of rolling m...
