“Oh my god I’m so excited for this trip! It’s gonna be so much fun having your dad watch our

every move.”

“Come on guys, he’s not gonna watch us”

“Really Hannah? He has cameras freaking everywhere. He’s definitely going to be watching us.”

“No he’s not” I lunge towards her and manage to scratch her cheek.

"Woah woah woah girls, calm down. It’s just a dumb camera. So what if he’s watching? I know Veronica and Lucas would definitely like that.”

Everyone laughs and Veronica turns red. Lucas is crouched down and too enthralled by the caterpillar in front of him to care about anything else. Veronica and Lucas had been caught getting it on in the Ikea bed section in a HASSELVIKA model a few weeks ago. So as all good friends do, we haven’t let them forget such a monumental achievement.

“Is everybody ready to roll?” Matt says in his forever playful tone. I look at him and I just can’t stop staring. He has this golden curly hair that looks like honey in the sun and he has these soft but strong eyes. His irises swirl with emerald and teal with flecks of gold. Don’t even get me started on his jawline, it’s so sharp it could cut clean through a diamond like it was butter. Unfortunately he’s dating Ashley and there’s no way I could ever compete with her. She has blonde hair and pale green eyes that shine like emeralds in the sunlight. She’s funny, hot, and well, I would say smart but that’s so not true. She once texted Matt to ask him where her phone was. Ashley is a lot better at makeup than I am and she always wears the tiniest little outfits. Today she’s wearing a black lace bralette and a short denim skirt with sky-high heels to complete the outfit.

“Hannah you coming?” Matt shouts from inside the van.

“Yeah just give me a second” I reach down and grab my backpack, slinging it over my left shoulder. I climb into the van and take a seat next to Eva, my absolute bestie. We met in preschool and we’ve been inseparable ever since. Matt decides to do roll call to make sure nobody gets stranded like they did on the trip to L.A.

“Veronica?”

“Here”

“Lucas?”

“Yep”

“Ashley?” Matt says this one sarcastically because he knows damn well she’s here

“Here baby” Ashley says in the most disgustingly flirty way while winking at Matt which makes this dumb smile spread across his face. I roll my eyes and mime vomiting which gets a reaction from the group.

“Hannah?”

“Uh-huh,” I respond in the blandest voice I can possibly emit.

“Adam?”

“Correct”

“Eva?”

“Here” Eva giggles.

“Well it looks like we have everybody here. To the asphalt and beyond!” I roll my eyes and giggle a little bit because without fail Matt says that every time we go on a trip regardless of where we’re going.
