Prologue Angela
Their paw steps sounded from behind me.
' Run, run faster!' My wolf panted in worry.
'I'm trying, my legs can only go so fast!' I panted out of breath. They have been chasing me for a couple of miles now, just out of reach.
'I will not go back, I will not go back...' I recited this in my mind over an over again until I could not hear their paw steps any longer. I stopped running and leaned on a big pine tree to try and catch my breath.
' Do you think we lost them Crystal?' I asked my wolf.
I could see her pacing in the back of my mind. Every move she makes you can see her white fur shimmer. I guess that's why she got the name Crystal.
' I don't know but I would just keep going.'
' Ok I will, but I have to rest soon.'
' I know just make sure your far enough away form the pack first.'
' I will.'
I began trotting for a couple more miles before I couldn't do it any more. You are probably wondering how I got to this point, right? Well you see I was abused by my so called "pack". They all blamed me for the Alpha and Luna's death. I remember the memory like it was yesterday even though it was only 5 years ago.
I was playing in the meadow by the Pack House. The Alpha and Luna were like parents to me sense my mom died while giving birth to me and my dad killing himself because he couldn't deal with the pain of losing his mate. I guess I wasn't enough for him to live for. My father and my mother were the Betas of the pack, so it only made sense for the Alpha and the Luna to take me in. They raised me along side their son, Daniel. He was heir to the Alpha role.
So back to the meadow. I was chasing a rabbit into the forest from the meadow. I chased the rabbit so far that I wound up being in No Mans Land. A place were wolves that don't have packs go. We call them Rouge's.
The Alpha mind linked me to ask where I was because he felt some one go off pack territory. That's when I got a good look at where I was and noticed that I was the one who went off pack lands. I told him I didn't know. He told me to stay put until he comes to get me. I was scared out of my mind. What made me even more scared was that I could smell the 'trash on fire' smell that Rouges normally have. Meaning one was close. Every pup knows and was taught at a very young age to know that Rouges would kill a pack member on sight, especially pups like me.
That's when I felt the huge paw knock me over from behind me. I wimpered in pain as my head hit a rock as I fell. The paw rolled me over and pushed painfully on my chest. As I tried to claw it off I looked up to see a brown, white, and black wolf look down at me with hate in its golden eyes.
'And what do you think your doing in No Mans Land pup' He asked me with a growl.
'I'm sorry I was chasing a rabbit and didn't relize that I was here. Please just let me go and I will leave.' I squezzed out between breathes.
The Rouge Pushed down harder on my chest, seeing as how I had enough air in my lungs to make such long sentences.
'That's quite enough out of you. I don't care if your blind and walked off your filthy territory. Pack wolves are not allowed here, much less pups for that matter.' He got down close to my face and growled down at me, I knew in that moment I would die. I would get to see my mother for the first time, up in the stars. And I wish I did die insted of the Alpha and the Luna. Then at least I would have had a happy childhood even though I didn't have my wolf yet.
As the Rouge was about to go in for the kill I felt the the air sweep back into my lungs as the Rouges weight was lifted off of me. I opened my eyes to see the Alpha brawl with the Rouge who was about to take my life. Then I see the Luna run up to me in wolf form, crouching down in front of me so I can climb on her back. She was going to take me back to the pack.
But what about the Alpha?
We were almost half way back to the pack line when I felt the Alphas bond break. Luna cried out for her fallen mate. As she did this she tripped over a rock and went plumeting to the ground. I went with her. The Alpha has been killed. My father figure has been killed because of me and my foolishness. I heard more paw steps coming from were me and the Luna just escaped from. Luna looks down the path then looks at me with terrified eyes.
'Run!' She told me
When she saw me hesitate she told me ' I love you like my very own Angela, none of this is your fault.'
That's when 5 Rouges came tumbling down the path, bearing down on us. I looked at Luna and saw that she was excepting her fate. Just as I only a few moments ago. So I ran. I was crying because I knew it was my fault, I could hear Luna's cry's of pain.
Then I felt the bond break.
As soon as I made it back into the territory I greived for the loss of my Alpha and Luna. And when my pack found me they imideatly blamed me. I didn't disagree because I knew it was my fault. So I let them beat me, call me names, rape me. Because I knew that the Death of the Luna and Alpha was on me. Their blood is on my hands. But when I got Crystal, when I turned 13 she showed me how it was not my fault. How they chose to give their lives up, how I was only 6 and I didn't know any better.
So I began to retailiate and then I gained enough streangth to run. and I will never stop until I am safe.
