Chapter 1

Cindy Russel blankly stared at the wall over her vanity, reflecting over the recent events of her life.

“Please help me!”

“Please! Listen to me! They’re real!”

She could hear her screams for help echoing in her ear.

“I swear I saw them!”

She remembered the sound of her school mates laughing at her as the school security guards carried her out of Evergreen Academy and into an ambulance, supposedly off to a private psychiatric hospital for her to receive treatment. At least that’s what the rumors were saying.

What a sight to see, the rich heiress/Queen Bee of Evergreen reduced to nothing but a babbling mess. Twitter was going love this.

“Oh my god look at her!” giggled one girl with her phone out recording Cindy’s every move.

“She’s completely lost the plot,” laughed another girl viciously typing on her phone, desperate to tell her friends out of school what she was witnessing.

Had Cindy been in the right state of mind she would have recognized the two from a group of girls who used to gaze at her from afar in admiration, wishing to be the queen of the school just like her.

Cindy was not in a psychiatric hospital. She was at home, in her giant mansion by the seaside, inside her massive bedroom located on the top floor of the house and overlooked the sea she loved so much, clothed in her silk lilac pajamas with a matching long kimono on top.

But Cindy was not happy. Her parents had not let her outside of the house since the incident and although they said it was for her own safety Cindy knew the truth. They were embarrassed. They were disappointed in her for bringing shame in the Russel family name. The fact that #CindyRusselHasLostIt was trending for a good three days littered with every possible angle of her breakdown, Cindy had basically signed her death warrant. Her social and family life was over.

She continuously received updates from her friends at school but she knew it was out of pity.

Grabbing a remote from her vanity, she turned to her Bluetooth speakers and pressed a button. The sound of a soothing instrumental came on and she sat cross-legged in front of her closed balcony door and closed her eyes.

“My name is Cindy Russel,” she took a deep breath, “And I am a massive deal,”

Her face twisted in anger as she remembered her peers laughing, “I will grind you to sand, beneath my Louboutin heels,”

Cindy chuckled lowly, “I wanna watch the world burn,”

A few hours later, a security guard watching the CCTV would swear that he saw something fly out of Cindy’s room, but couldn’t be sure as the girl had fiercely protested against any cameras being near any parts of her room.

A few minutes after that a scream from Cindy’s room would grab the attention of the household with Tina Russel first to arrive. As she came into the bedroom she stared at a young maid who had tears streaming down her face, kneeling by the open balcony doors.

“What is it? Are you hurt? Where is my daughter?”

The young girl just pointed a shaky finger over the balcony and Tina’s face twisted in horror as she ran to the balcony and peeled over it.

Cindy’s petite body was sprawled over the rocks as the waves crashed over them, her prized lilac kimono draped over them. Her bleach blonde hair was spread almost too gracefully over the jagged stones. And what her mother hated most about the scene was that her daughters’ caramel brown eyes that she loved so much were wide open and staring back at her unblinkingly.

Tina Russel let out a heartwrenching screech at the sight.
