It was a cold and dark night, even though it was mid-July. While they just shivered and pulled the blankets more around them. A tall lean man walked around, looking for the source of the power.
He sensed he was near the source when two gunshots erupted from the silence. He camouflaged himself while the apparent offenders ran off into the night. He continued his way when he realised the source was coming from where the gunshots where heard.
He warped to the place and felt satisfaction at what he saw. Two bloody bodies trying to get to a small toddler. Whereas he was smiling at the toddler, the two bodies were trying to hurt him. Like they wanted him to suffer one last time. With one flick of his hand, they stopped moving. Their hands which he hadnโt noticed lost their grip on the little boyโs neck.
He gasped for air as looked at him frantically, trying to figure out whether he was there to help him or hurt him too. He smiled reassuringly while lifting him with one flick of his hand. The boy looked around confused while he made the boy float towards him. He carefully cradled him in his arms while cleaning him from the blood with his cloak.
And without further ado, he raised him to become his successor and lover.
