Chapter 1 || caution
You were strolling the park with your friend, Miu. You two usually only chilled outside when one of you was upset or in the mood for some people-watching.
Suddenly, a random guy walked up to you, piercing you with his eyes.
“Do you want to be my queen?”
The stranger asked.
You nodded no, you didn’t know him, so why would you trust him?
“Just be my queen for a day, I’ll show you the wonders of life.”
The stranger said, hoping you would give in.
“What do you get out of it?”
You asked, knowing there was a double agenda to this guy. The way his hair covered most of his eyes and the way he was dressed in a tight leather jacket scared you off but lured you in at the same time.
“I get to have you for just one day. That’s enough to make me happy.”
The mysterious guy said, his voice luring you in with every letter he said.
He knew the effect he had on you, without you even knowing him. He knew how he could make you feel when you did learn who he was. He knew he was being risky, luring you into his web. He knew you were going to get consumed by his lifestyle, even if it’s only for a day. But he still wanted you, he still needed you even though you didn’t know that yet.
“Jung Soyeon, please be my queen for just a day.”
The way he said your name caught your attention even more than he had before. You recognised it, it felt familiar and like home. But you didn’t know him and he didn’t know you.
Yet, you were lured into his web and you didn’t want to leave. You felt safe in his presence but at the same time you got an adrenaline rush of fear every time he blinked.
“What on earth are you talking about man? Leave my friend alone.”
Miu had interrupted the conversation. Miu was never one to just keep her mouth shut when she disapproved or disagreed, this being proof of it. A giggle escaped your mouth, alerting the stranger in front of you.
“Can’t I ask the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met on a date?”
He was pushing Miu to her limits, not knowing where the line was. He had a lot of nerve for trying to talk to me in a public space in the first place, let alone actually get to ask me out when he never even has met me. I admired it, but Miu certainly did not. She would not even have gone out with her crush if he asked her out like this.
But I’m not Miu.
“Then, where do you plan on taking your queen?”
I spoke softly, with a smirk on my face. Miu was getting annoyed with him and now I went ahead and made it worse, but why can’t a girl have a little fun?
“Somewhere where you’ll have the time of your life, it’s up to you if you want to go on an adventure.”
Somehow he knew I like doing reckless things, doing it in the spur of the moment, he knew it and he used it to his advantage.
“I’ll go with you, on one condition.”
I started, looking at Miu who was trembling from annoyance and worry. She never knew when to let go and just live her life. she never knew when to go for it, even when you could lose everything. that’s how she lost the one person she would always love, she didn’t pursue them. she didn’t continue her love and just let it simmer till it eventually boiled over from hurt.
“it’s for one day, and one day only. no more, no less.”
a smile formed on his face, showing how grateful he was of this opportunity.
“deal.”
