❄Prologue❄
21st June 2019, New York
My tears start to make a pathway thought my cheeks which smudges my nude makeup as I make my to his apartment through the never-ending stairs of the 88 floors tall, 432 Park Avenue Condominiums building with my 10cm tall black heels. I just don’t understand what he was thinking when he was purchasing this apartment but let me guess: he was thinking ahead and plotting how to torture and irritate me when the lift stops working and prevents me to reach him. How convenient of him to be so thoughtful. Sarcasm.
“Nearly there,” I tell myself as I leisurely yet runningly proceed towards my goal which reaches his quarters. When I finally reach the apartment door, I stop to take a breath when I spot the emptiness and dullness in the pit black door. Only last week, I used to stop to admire the beautiful and wooden calligraphy brought by me which had his name. Why isn’t his name there?
Fear was rising from my stomach to my heart as I start to panic and I quickly reach inside my River Island bag and shakingly take out the second keys which he gave me to enter his apartment.
Shakingly and worriedly, I enter the apartment and I look around horrifyingly.
Our memories. Our happiness. Our joy. Our world. Gone. Torn apart by the brightness of the white and empty walls in the apartment that used to be full of our pictures and recollections.
I scream out his name and run to every room in the apartment. I go and look for him in our bedroom. But he is nowhere to be found, leaving me without a trace to hunt him down again.
I fall on the white and black marble floor and cry my eyes out but he never comes back. I feel my heart being ripped and pulled apart from my chest by an unexplainable supernatural force but he doesn’t come back.
As the sun starts to set, I realise, that he is gone. Deep down in my heart, I knew he was gone when he didn’t answer my calls or messages for the past four days but I couldn’t believe. I knew he was gone when he left me without saying goodbye to that party but I couldn’t believe it. Not until I came here and saw it with my own eyes.
He made me fall for him when he never really loved me. The fall was so hard, painful and suffocating, that I force myself to think that I will never forgive him for his betrayal, treachery and deception. But I love him too much and I will fall over and over again.
Only for him.
