Chapter 1
January 1st 2020 Before the war
"This is my first time, shit! I don't know how to write a fucking story of my life or even record it for that matter. OK, fuck it, here it goes.
" Exhales harshly. "Hi, my name is Rye walker, its uh! Short for Ryan but nobody calls me that. Um. Its January 1st 2020 and well shits going down in the world. I don't know how else to put it. There's just me, my girlfriend and our son Noah here and I have other family scattered across the united states. I have my mom and brother in Utah. Heh! Yeah I know what you're thinking but no. They're not Mormon. And then there's us my little unit here in good old Colorado. About an hour ago after watching our fuck head of a president announce an address to america I decided to record this".
One hour ago. The TV goes to an automated live broadcast of the president addressing the United States.
"I had a strike ordered against Iranian general who plotted to attack America with his allies and I needed to put a stop to it. Then I told them if they retaliate we had 52 targets even cultural sites we were going to attack.
" Then the TV goes back to normal. And eyes turned to Facebook to see what's going on.
"So yeah I don't know what else to say for now so I'm going to end it now.
" Then the recording stops. Rye puts the camera on the nightstand and leaves the room and walks out. He proceeds down the hall into the living room and sits on the couch. His girlfriend in the kitchen trying to look for something to eat. His son playing with hot wheels on the floor making engine noises with his mouth. His girlfriend walks to the middle section separating the kitchen and dining room and starts trying to make conversation.
"Babe I'm hungry do you want to go get McDonalds or something?
" Rye turns his head to look at her.
" sure".
He says with a big ass grin. They grab the baby and head to the car and put him in his car seat and start the car. Then they drive out of they're driveway and down the road. They come back twenty minutes later with food and enter the house to eat. Hours pass as the day slowly turns to night and everyone is comfortable in bed sound asleep.
"Wow, I just finished reading this adventure story and I couldn't put it down! The plot is gripping and the characters are so well-developed. The author has a way of creating tension that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I highly recommend this story to anyone who loves a thrilling adventure with a touch of mystery.
