The Philosophy of the One

THE ONE

Will the world last forever?

Will it end in a flaming blaze?

Will it see end never?

Will it be obscured in a haze?

Who knows the fate of Mother Earth?

Will it be like the flame in the hearth?

Or will it go on and on and on forever?

This knowledge eludes even the Word,

Who set everything on board,

Who wrote down every rule

That governs our Earth.

However, someone has the clue,

He is the One who begat the Word,

The One who cannot be fully known,

For whom the Word has sown.

But, even if The One knows it all,

None of this will be known to us at all,

Since The One cannot in the Universe exist,

Since He is ultimately what makes everything exist,

Part of Him resides in all,

So we must give Him His due.

But we can never reach the One,

Except through His Dearly Beloved Son.

THE ULTIMATE GOOD

Everyone wants wealth,

Everyone wants fame.

Everyone wants good health,

Everyone vilifies the lame.

But what is the purpose of life?

Is it to find a wife?

Is it to escape strife?

Is it simply to live life?

All of these are good,

For the Philosopher says,

Everyone seeks the good.

For the good is our food.

What is this good that we seek?

Is it only for the meek?

Are those who can’t find it weak?

Did their cars spring a leak?

Only the true Seeker can see,

What the Ultimate Good really is,

It is Union with The One,

Those who achieve this

Are not truly gone,

For all of us seek home,

For we all came from The One.

And so, He is who we wish to see.
