My feet are in the snow
I want to let them know
How heavy it can be
When that drunken man is me
Just simply to get up
And quickly to throw up
It will take me awhile
And it’s like I’ve run a mile
No one will ever know
I also have some blow
I must find it now
“Hey, look at that gal.”
My mind is so messed up
But my shoes are gone
Why can’t I just get up?
Instead of freaking moan
How difficult can be
When that drunken man is me
I just cannot explain
Although I admit
I think that gal’s Loraine
To one like her, I can commit
My feet are getting cold
But vodka saved my soul
And even though I’m old
I wouldn’t let her go
An empty bottle kissed my lips
The cigarette end is still in my hand
Passers-by judge me with a stare
They can’t understand that brief is my flare
I lie down
It’s time to rest
Nobody’s clown
I’m only a guest.
