Summary

Irrespective of the journey we take in our lives, we will always reach this day. No one prepares you for this part of your life. You are left all alone to overcome it on your own, to never share your feelings as you might be perceived as a loon in the society. The stigma associated with depression, till date prevents people from stepping forward and sharing their experiences. This is the story of Tessa who finds purpose, meaning and joy in life after overcoming severe depression.

That Sinking Feeling

No one prepares you for somethings in life. There are instructions and manuals for just about anything. You can get instructions on how to build a bomb or how to cook a meal or how to get rid of pimples on the internet, but no one prepares you for certain more arduous aspects in life and quite honestly I have just come to realize that there probably is no answer. It is a path of self-discovery where you simply need to roll in the mud, get dirty and figure it out for yourself.

My story until a few years back was at least that of an average girl living her average boring life. I had the same stupid dreams, ridiculous visions of grandeur and an optimistic outlook on life for lack of a better word. I always thought I was different, that I would achieve something when I grew up, I would be someone unique...but most of all, I would be happy.

Until this date, happiness has eluded me. You might think that happiness is a mindset. It is up to us to be able to find our happy place, a world where we can exist in peace and live happily amidst our friends and family. However, what I have come to realize from all my years on this planet is this...Happiness is a gift and it chooses its residents with much care.

Silver's Second Chance

Ashley: I enjoyed the story. It was a short one so the fast pace fit. I think something should be put in to show a time jump between paragraphs like a "****" just to make it easier to follow when we skip to the next day week or month. Over all a good read.
