Summary

Dun..dun..dUn! The gang gathered around a huge stone. “What is it?” Night Slade asked. They turned to Ghostie. She’d probably know. Ghostie knows things that we, not even the most intelligent people in the world, don’t know. “It’s a stone. Cannot you see that?” She asked. “Anyways, I need to take it back to my house to figure what it is.” What events happened next would be the most extraordinary things ever.

Chapter 1: Ordinary Day

It was just an ordinary day to waste away. It was blazing hot and not even the most coldest AC could ever blow it away. It was SO hot that Mr. Sun was melting. The gang went to the ice cream parlor to cool off. “AAH!” Kamii screeched all of a sudden. “I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!” She kicked the rocky path, clearly in rage mode. “Chill, would ya?” Asked Jarren. “We’re almost there.” They walked through the neighbouring park. It was oddly packed. “Weird.” Ghostie thought out loud. “They issued a heat warning. Usually people wouldn’t go outside.” “Yeah.” Night Slasher said all of a sudden. It startled Ghostie. “AAH!” She screamed. She jumped. “Don’t ever do that.” “Oof. Sorry!” Night Slasher said. After a few minutes, the gang sighed! “The ice cream parlor! We’re finally here!” Said Aaliyah! They rushed to the doors and they got their ice cream. The ice cream was delicious! They went outside to that neighbouring park. There was nobody there. “How long have we been gone?” Harry asked. “We haven’t.” Jarren said as he looked down at his watch. “It’s 4:36 pm. We went to the ice cream parlor at 4:26. We’ve been gone for 10 minutes. There’s no way a crowd could clear up that fast. Well unless something terrible has happened like a shooting. If it were a shooting, then we would’ve heard the gunshots and screams.” “Yeah, but we didn’t hear gunshots or screams.” Aaliyah said. “Except that kid who was screaming because he didn’t want ice cream, which I find hard to believe because every kid likes ice cream…” Kamii said. “Or they just don’t.” Jarren added. “Yes, or they just don’t.” Kamii agreed. “Wait a second...where is the fountain?” Aaliyah asked. There was a fountain in the neighbouring park where they were in the middle of the park, yes. But it was gone. There was a stone in it’s replacement. They decided to have a closer look.

Ren: The storyline is great! The author has built a rich and compelling world, I really like the elemental powers and how those apply in combat. Sometimes there are situations where I wonder why the characters don't use their powers in more practical ways outside of combat, like why doesn't Ross use his ...

Another Half

Heika van Walderveen: I had to get used to the style. It’s a lot of switching and getting back into the story of the characters. Also the different timelines were a bit confusing in the beginning. But once you’re used to it, it’s really quite original. The plot is good, but it’s only book 1 (out of 3), but so far so good...
