Shadow in the Breeze: The Truth and Change

Chapter 1

We arrived back in New York after Leo's recovery. Traveling by shadows we made our way back through the sewers to the lair. No Foot soldiers in sight or any disturbances in the water or earth of the tunnels.

When we got to the lair Donnie and April went to work on the Shredder's headquarters, Raph and Leo went to check things out to make sure everything was okay, Casey and Mikey went to the kitchen for some reason and Splinter went to his room. I went to my room with Haku to talk to the team about my return and what they needed from me.

"Okay I got it. I'll keep my guard up until then Zhulong out."

A knocking noise from my door forced me to end my call quickly. I placed the phone in my drawer and locked it.

"Enter"

April creek the door open.

"Hey April something up with the mission?"

"No just getting everything together but there's something I need to ask you about." April said.

"What's up?" I said leaning against the wall with my arms crossed.

"Is there something you need to talk about?" April asked.

"No nothing comes to mind." I answered.

"Anything with work?" April asked.

I tensed up a bit. "No just been busy and everything."

"I heard you talk in a way only people in the military talk. A relative of mine was in the Army and even when they were home they couldn't lose the way they talked." April said.

"One of the crew members at work was in the military may be I picked it up there." I said.

"Maybe but still what is a Zhulong?" April asked.

I gripped my arm tightly.

"Just something we saw when I was working just joking about it April." I said.

"But still Shadow-"

"Leave it alone April." I warned.

"Shadow" April said in a concerned tone.

"Leave now." I stated.

I showed April the door and shut it.

My cover was going to be blown soon and I need it to stay intact for just a little longer.

After cooling down a bit I joined my brothers down by Donnie's lab to discuss the mission. We were going to hit Shredder's headquarters in a few days after getting things together. While my brothers and friends got ready I went to work at my own headquarters to talk about something with Satoshi.

Too bad I went to work because now my brothers and friends found out what I really did the day we were going to hit the Shredder.
