Chapter 1
I just get back from a mission and collapse in bed sleeping for hours on my one day off from everything. Splinter excused me from morning training since Donnie and Leo caught onto my sleep depredation. Even though I didn't have to train in the morning after coming home from work but I would make it up with extra training at night with Leo. I just woke up after noon when I hear the clattering of metal and things being moved around downstairs. I walk out of the room with Haku on my tail to see my brothers running around gathering supplies and throwing it into bags.
"What's up?" I asked Raph.
"Shadow thought you were still sleeping." Raph said.
"Nah you guys could wake the dead with all that noise." I said.
"Don't get fresh." Raph stated.
"Whatever just tell me what's going on then." I said.
Raph explained that they found a hole in a tunnel after Mikey messed with the crystals they found in the lair after their move in. The crystals glowed and as soon as they did a creature screeched and they found the hole.
"Can I go then?" I asked.
"If you can get ready in five." Raph said.
I ran into my room and changed into my gear with my go back for work taking out a few identifying objects of my team and ran out my room to join my brothers on our adventure into the underground.
We traveled in silence as we made our way deeper and deeper into the earth. The hairs on the back of my neck rose.
"We're being watch." I said.
"Agreed. Be on your toes everyone." Leo said.
"Got it Fearless" Raph yelled.
"Shadow can you-"
"Got it Leo call me when you can." I said.
Leo wanted me to go a different path than them to find our 'friends' and to see if there was anything out there that we needed to know ahead of time. My glasses and ability with the earth helped me see things that others couldn't.
"Watch you back." I said.
"And you." Leo said placing a hand on my shoulder.
"Yo Shadow you better be at the end of the tunnel by the time we get there." Raph said.
"Just don't get lost yourself then." I joked.
"Be careful of monsters out there." Mikey muttered.
"Got it Mikey just worry about yourself and make sure not to read anymore monster comics." I warned.
Mikey nodded his head.
"Careful with the crystals Donnie we still need to know what they do or what they are." I said.
"Got it Shadow if you find anything call me about it." Donnie said.
My brothers and I parted ways I pressed a button on my glasses to activate night vision while I took my gloves off and touched the earth and closed my eyes. In my head I looked further with the earth to other areas to see anything or anyone.
I felt a tremor in the earth and a large creature walking around. Whatever it was the creature was on foot and traveling together with two other creatures. I had to go see what it was and its purpose was.
