Prologue

To my Mother,

who believed in me as a writer

but never saw me published.

My Dear Eben,

However bizarre this story may seem, I assure you every word is the truth. My faculties are still acutely sane, and the details of my extraordinary adventure are etched indelibly upon my mind. It is only now in the winter of my life that I feel compelled to share this story with my son. Your mother and I agreed that you are ready. You see, I fear the Almighty will soon see fit to take my soul into his own for the final time and forever silence the account of one mortal’s journey through the Otherworld of the Dead.

—Your Father

“Now comes the mystery.”

Henry Ward Beecher

“They groaned, they stirred, they all uprose,

Nor spake, nor moved their eyes;

It had been strange, even in a dream,

To have seen those dead men rise.”

Samuel Taylor Coleridge

I really enjoyed the mood and depth in your story, it paints such vivid imagery.
It made me think how powerful it could be as a visual piece or c0mic.
I’m involved in visual storytelling, and your work caught my attention.

His Forsaken Fate

Bargara4670: I have marked the ratings down because it was obviously originally written in a foreign language and translated into English. I hope that whoever edited the second half will go back and do the same to the first half. Having said that, this was a well-thought-out plot which kept me interested enough ...

Marilyn: I am enjoying this novel so far. The author does need to work on past and present tense, as well as, dependence on spell check when using words that sound the same. Other than that, quite enjoyable.
