Unspoken Farewells
Over a thousand words to say
But none will suffice
The black crow called his name
I never had a chance
It’s a joke, a lie. Falsity dressed up in truth
With a cloak of shadow, death calls his name
The scream won’t come
A silent banshee withered, scorched by sun
His laughter forever gone
lips welded shut under a mask of oxygen
air faltered release
Stopped
Oceans roared in my head that day
Crashed against my ears
Slipped down cold cheeks, and burned nose
salt numbing tongue
I preyed to a lord I don’t believe as stars shone brightly above me
Stars that drowned in darkness
He used to love the stars, the night
ice shards down my throat
barbed wire gauges beating heart
May he rest peacefully
