Pain seeks Revenge
"Mam who did this to you?" The police inspector asked frantically as he and his men bailed to the ICU.
The wounds on her body could escort a living man to death, on the first sight.
She was lying on the puckered hospital bed, her body had grown white and pallid as if sorrows had been drinking her blood.
Her pale body was being supplied with fresh glucose and blood, the thick needles went deep into her veins and arteries, her hand almost numb to their effect.
All over her were deep and abhorrent welts and lashes, some of them were mighty enough to stay for good. Belts and Whips had struck her hard, none of the wound seemed old, each of them was carved at the same time, probably a few hours ago. 13 marks were embracing her body.
Her eyes were crystal cold, her emotionless eyes stared hard into the craked ceiling, the policmen's word could not seem to impede her dark thoughts. The condition could bewilder anyone, everyone there thought of her as a lost soul but there could have not been anyone more alive than her in the present.
Her lips didn't move a muscle in spite of his rigourous try to pull the truth out of this lady, he only met futile results.
"I did this to her, Sir". A stern voice spoke from one corner of the meagre lit room. "Please Arrest me."
It was her husband, his voice almost
Empty.
His arms were crossed over his chest and his black eyes looked straight ahead as if he was in some daydream.
With his hand he had grasped a little boy, who stood next to him, probably four. The baby's head was resting on his father's waist and his eyes were fixed on his mother. As if he wanted her to speak.
"Is that True? Mam." The inspector stood dazed. "Your silence has tempted us to take this as a case of domestic violence." He said sternly almost dejected by his futile efforts.
"Put him behind the bars."
"No, get the fuck away from him." She shrieked as the constables went for her husband.
They hampered considering the woman's trauma and desperation.
"We can't let this go, Mam. You were found HALF DEAD on the outskirts of the town. A severe case of domestic violence, please don't be scared of your husband. We are with you he won't be able to even cast his malice eyes on you." The inspector confronted her. "Besides, this man has already admitted his offense."
"There cannot be a guilty without a victim. I have not suffered any crime." The lady shrieked. "The little wounds you people see on me are mere results of my frustation, I am mentally Ill and I often end up drinking hell and fainting on some deserted street. I don't owe you anymore explanation."
After almost an exhausting hour of negotiation and mouth fight the police agreed to let this case off their hook.
Two weeks later, they were settled back in their house, all three in harmony.
The husband for whom his wife was now a goddess, was lying on her lap.
"Honey, Why did you save me that day? Despite the fact that I beated and harrased you." The man asked in sheer curiosity and suspense.
He had come come drunk and he ended up beating her that way.
She gave him an eerie smile.
"The law could never punish you the way you deserve to be, sweatheart. I had to save you from their gentle punishment of sheer imprisonment."
She declaimed.
Before he could react and express how baffled he was, she shoved a syringe into his neck. Miliseconds did not pass before he fainted.
Three months later, the man was found on the same outskirt, in 13 different body parts, but not
HALF DEAD.
