The Life of a Wizard
The life of a Wizard
Q strolled down Chelsea with a grin on his face. A happy grin. The London breeze swooped over his grey white hair with ease and he loved it. Normally, his walk to work was as boring as watching cake bake in a small oven. But today, he was feeling lucky. He did his usual routine in hopping onto a small boat in the Thames, and riding into MI6’s back entrance. His assistant and Cover agent Brian took his keys and coat and gestured for Q to come in.
He set up his lab for the day and slowly started to get into his grumpy usual self. It would get even worse when 007 came in. Currently, Bond was in Russia on a mission to retrieve a stolen briefcase. He was probably just in Bed having sex with a foreign girl now. Bond was set to come back for today at 12:00. The time was 11:55. Q was eager as always to see if Bond has brought his equipment back in one piece. He never did.
Ring ring. Q walked over to his phone.
“Yes?”
“Bond is in to return equipment. Sir.”
“Bring him in.”
Then, the Black haired idiot came in through the brown oak doors.
“Hello Q.” Bond waved.
“007.”
“Here is your equipment.”
Bond put two broken Omega watches on the table, a damaged laser book with a bomb inside and a broken Aston Martin remote control.
“Oh God! What the Bloody hell do I have to do to not let you break my things!” Q yelled.
“I don’t know. I am off.” Bond replied.
“Oh no you’re not! I am suspending you! No action for a month!”
“Stop joking.”
“I never joke about my work 007!”
Bond muttered something under his breath and walked away.
Q was in such an incurable rage that it was music to his ears when M called for him in his office. Q made his way up the large stairs of MI6 and entered the brown doors with the silver name label reading M on it. Q entered.
“Ah, Q. I am aware that you have suspended 007.” M said in an unconcerned voice.
“Yes, and the man deserved it! Do you know how much those Omega’s cost?”
Q raged.
“No I don’t.”
“One hundred thousand pounds! And an extra two thousand for the modifications!”
Q could not hold it in.
“Well, that is all for now.”
Q walked out of the office and bumped into Bond.
“Well Q, I want to say sorry.” Bond said this in the most unapologetic voice possible.
“Well I accept your terrible apology. I won’t suspend you for now. BUT, if you break another piece of my equipment, you will be.”
“Thank you Q.”
Q was being extra generous to Bond here, but he knew that he would need 007 out in the field. This was the last time.
