Why are there times when we're happy as can be,
And times when we need a bail?
Why do some people cheer us on
While others wait for us to fail?
Why do we cry out when our courage fades away?
Why do we scream when our colors turn to gray?
You're a pearl, you're a pearl.
I know you're a shooting star.
You will find something you're good at.
Talents never stray far.
Yes, you will mess up.
Yes, you will fall.
But, though these things happen,
You're not alone at all!
And even through your chains, you'll find,
Your heart will always continue to shine!
Never forget this message of truth:
God is always holding you!
