1: Monday
A/N: This is rushed and not proofread because I wanted to get it out. So, uh, be nice?
TWs: Light swears, Kinda sorta sexual harassment (?),
How did I end up here? All I wanted to do was stay home and watch anime. But my friends just HAD to come and drag me to this stupid party. Of course, the minute we entered, they all left me to talk to boys. So now, I’m standing in the corner all alone. And to make matters worse, some guy keeps trying to hit on me.
“Hey, baby. Why don’t you come with me? I’ll rock your world.” And he winked. He leaned in close, allowing me to smell the scent of alcohol on him. I tried to push him away, but he just took my hand in his own and put his other one on my waist. I immediately slapped him away.
“Don’t touch me”, I snapped.
He frowned and asked, “Damn, baby why not? What’s so wrong with having a little fun? I promise I’ll treat you right.” He placed his hand on my thigh, dangerously close to the area I was NOT about to let him touch.
I smacked him again and screamed, “Because I’m gay, okay?! I’m gay and I’m not interested!”
The entire room went silent. Everyone was staring at me. The guy had his hands in the air and was stepping back. His surprise quickly turned into anger as he took another step back. He mumbled, “Ungrateful b*tch”, and walked away.
I sighed and stepped out of the room, out of the view of the others. I found my way into an empty bedroom and entered it, shutting the door behind me. I slid down against the wall and hugged my knees tightly. “Goddamnit”, I mumbled to myself.
“It’s a damn war zone out there, huh?”
I immediately stood and scanned my surroundings. Sitting on the ground next to the bed was a girl staring at me. How had I not seen someone there before?
“I’m gonna guess you were dragged here as well”, she said.
My heart pounded in my chest as I tried to speak. “Uh...yeah, I, uh...” I bit my lip and tried not to make eye contact.
The girl smiled. Her chocolate brown eyes sparkled, and they straightened the denim-jacket she was wearing. “You’re shy, aren’t you? I guess I’ll have to introduce myself. My name is Asha. What’s yours?”
I could feel my face flush red as I stuttered, “C-Christie.”
“Well, Christie, I heard there’s some pizza left in the kitchen. I’ll go get us some and then we can hang out in our little hideout.” And with that, Asha opened the door and exited, leaving me a blushing mess.
I shut the door and sighed with delight. This party was starting to become more enjoyable now that a gorgeous new girl is talking to me! I smiled softly as I recalled Asha’s short, black hair with large curls. It complemented her caramel skin tone very well. And her, eyes, I swear they were so stunning. I just couldn’t believe how such a perfect person exists in this god-awful world.
As I was lost in thought, the door opened again and in walked the beautiful angel. She closed the door again and set down two plates of cheese pizza and flashed me another smile. I smiled back.
For the rest of the party, we sat and talked together. Asha has just moved in the past week and is in none of my classes, so it makes sense as to how I never noticed her before. As we continued talking, I fell more and more for this perfect being. She was witty, charming, and sweet.
But, every now and then, the little voice inside my head would remind me that no one is perfect. No one. Fate would probably play me. I would probably find out that Asha is extremely homophobic or something.
I tried to enjoy the rest of the night, but that voice kept nagging me and nagging me. You should tell her. Tell her now. That way, if she doesn’t accept you, at least you won’t get hurt as much. And although that did seem to be the logical reason, I didn’t listen.
As the night came to a close, Asha and I gathered our things and left. We were outside the house, and Asha said to me, “I’ll see you on Monday then, right? I mean, we have lunch together...”
“Yeah”, I agreed. “I’ll see you Monday.”
