PROLOGUE
It...it finally happened. We finally killed someone, just so we could eat. There was no order, no coercing-only willingness. My parents, siblings and I, killed her because we knew we could overpower her. She stood no chance against us. Her screams...oh God, those horrible, annoying screams... I had to shut her up- had to stop those ear-piercing screams, so I grabbed a chef's knife and stabbed it through her skull, through her left eye.
The gruesome sight and her final twitches, made my younger sister's eyes grow wide as she licked her lips in anticipation. My stomach growled as I stared at the now-dead corpse as I felt my hunger growing. We all stood surrounding her lifeless body, our eyes reflecting our excitement as well as our hunger, as it was time for a long-awaited meal. "Thank you for your sacrifice," we all whispered simultaneously as they used to do...before their demise. Only behind closed doors did we allow our...true colors to show. In a matter of minutes that felt like seconds, all that was left was her teeth and hair. Hours later and those screams still echoed off the walls. I didn't care because I didn't feel guilty. All I felt was...hunger. A never-ending insatiable craving for more...
