Winston Correctional Facility, Belton Lake, Texas

The cells were colder than usual that night. It always goes cold when the guards have blacked out, because the heater automatically turns off after half an hour if no one flicks a switch twice. The inmates were all asleep, apart from the ones on Block D. They always kept awake for the longest. It had been that way ever since the clown arrived. The notorious clown from Gotham City, I mean. Scars ran from the edges of his mouth to the top of his cheek bone, like a smile. He used to rip off mobs back in the day, when it was just him and Bruce. It only usually took him a month before he busted out of Arkham. That's why he was here. With the most psychotic criminals the entire of North America had to offer. No one had ever broken out of the joint. The only people who knew it was there were the government and the inmates.

But Napier wanted to change that. Ever since he got there, he had been planning to escape. He knew the best way of leaving the main block: the cafeteria. Once he was in there, he would have to use his knife to make the guards open the staff door. He had a crew in there to help in the riot, and a man who was willing to be his hostage. He just needed a gun, which he would get from one of the guards, and a way of getting into the tunnel that leads to the surface.

He never had a plan. But when he took over Gotham, he relied on plans. He robbed every store and bank there was to offer, purely to put people out of business. And at the same time, he would have enough money to buy a warehouse where he could build up a gang and create weapons. He bought an army size warehouse and enough supplies to start building guns by himself, so he wouldn't have to waste money on that, too. The founders of the gang became his main enforcers, and when he had enough men and weapons, he raided Eritch Tower. Which just happened to be the biggest building in the city at the time. It had military level security, even though it was just an office building with a huge basement for storage. He kept influencing people to join his army and then he attacked the GCPD lockup. He freed everyone there. Then he set his eyes on Blackgate and the asylum. Then we all know what happened from there. He won the fight with the police force, and he pushed them out of the city, into Blüdhaven, where they stayed for half a year until they had the guts to take back Gotham.

And this time, he had a better plan. He had a plan for when he got out of prison. Everyone in the army divided into groups and fell apart or got arrested. But the founders were still on the loose. Napier thought if he escaped without leaving a trail, he could call someone to perform a robbery in the direction of California. The FBI would scramble their men to that area, therefore giving him time to return to Gotham and bring the gang together again. But not as big as last time.

So on this particular night, the guards were all asleep. The inmates were asleep too, no witnesses for what was about to happen. Jack always carried a lock pick around with him, and he kept it in his hair, so he pulled it out and unlocked his cell door. He walked towards a security camera and tore it off the wall. He elbowed the glass on it, and pulled out some wires out of it. He put it on the floor under where it used to be, with the opened half facing the ground, to make it look like an accident. He returned to his cell and calmed the other Block D inmates, then closed his cell, they would all be opened by the push of a button tomorrow morning for breakfast. He was safe.

The next morning, he woke up for his food and trudged along the block, into the cafeteria. The filthy, plastic tables were enough to make him sick. The benches usually had squashed chips on them, but everyone let him take the clean area of the bench, they were scared of him. They all heard stories of him orchestrating hell on Earth back in Gotham. There was a rumour that he killed five wrestler-sized men with just a pen knife in less than ten minutes. He didn't actually kill those men, but it still scared everyone when they saw him with a knife the kitchen handed him for his meals.

After breakfast, he went back to his cell and waited. And then lunch came. He would usually go into the glass room after his food to watch the lake's inhabitants swim around while he thought on his escape plan. It was calming.

But this time it was different. He didn't seem like his usual self today. The wires from the camera were in his pocket. The wires were about as long as a child's arm. The moment he got a knife from one of the guards, he turned towards a table, but he knew his hostage was next in line for a knife. So he quickly spun on his heel and grabbed the inmate by the back of his hair and held the knife to his throat. "You open that security room door, right now, or this guy gets it!" He pushed the knife harder against the man's throat. The Block D inmates stood up and pulled out their knives, darting their eyes around the room, looking for anyone willing to shoot Jack. Then a guard rushed at Jack with an taser and swung it at him. But before it hit him, one of Jack's men stabbed the guard in the stomach. He stumbled back and began to bleed out. The knife was removed and slammed into the guard's eye. Jack shuffled over and kicked the guy's gun into the air, catching it.

"Sorry, pal, but I don't need you anymore." He whispered into his hostage's ear. The man began to panic and swung his arm back but his throat was slit before he could do anything other than that. Jack moved towards the staff door, which was now open, and shouted. "Gerald, Jon, Samson! You're comin' with me!" They chased after him and slid towards a button in the middle of the room. They slammed it and a door infront of them opened. The elevator. They entered and pushed a button, shooting up towards the surface.

They came out into a carpark in the middle of a field, in Texas.
