Chapter 1- Escape
Dawn. The suns were rising on the planet Droe-toe. Liya was running, her feet smacking against the bare forest floor. Her purple eyes were wide and fearful, her midnight black hair fanning out behind her.
Loud voices could be heard as the forest whirled past Liya's purple eyes. She made a sharp right, turning down a small clearing. The voices followed her down the clearing, through the twists and turns.
Liya finally stopped when she reached a large manhole style cover which was covered with leaves and branches. She glanced behind her, relieved to see they hadn't caught up to her. Yet.
She knelt down, her light pink dress ripping slightly. Her hands tore at the branches, delicate scratches appearing on her pale hands. Yanking the cover off, she peered into the blackness. She looked behind her and could hear the heavy footsteps and voices getting closer. She held her breath and slowly stood up, almost tripping over.
She jumped into the darkness.
