Unexpected Feelings
Hey, can you please come over?” you lazily jump in bed, staring up at the ceiling, waiting for his response. “I really need you.”
“I’ll be there… I’ll come through the window,” Taehyung says, just before ending the call. He knew exactly why you called and what was bothering you. It never upset him that you wanted him over just to talk but he couldn’t help but wonder why he couldn’t be your boyfriend. Instead, you’d only call him over when you and Namjoon were going through a rough patch.
It wasn’t a surprise you’d call him for advice. He’s the only guy who’d put up with your shenanigans and the fact that he was your best friend meant he would be there for you no matter what.
But lately, something had been bothering you. You’d constantly dream of him after that one night you fought with Namjoon and decided to stay over Taehyung’s house.
You ran to his house drenched with rainwater, while your clothes had clung to every bit of your skin. Once Taehyung saw you, he was furious. You couldn’t tell how upset he was, because he quickly composed himself and ran for towels. Just as he wrapped you with a huge fluffy towel, you found yourself having a difficult time to speak.
His hair was damp, allowing water droplets to fall along his collar bone down to the V of his shirt. His sweatpants hung low, exposing the waistband of his boxer-briefs and you couldn’t believe you were fantasizing about your best friend right now while you were in a relationship.
You thought it was just because of the close proximity and him always helping you that made you feel that way. “It was him just being nice,” you’d say to yourself. But it only got harder for you to restrict your own thoughts when he took off his shirt because of how soaked his shirt got.
“Sorry, I just got out of the shower and forgot to dry my hair,” he says. You quietly nod, deciding to sit on the sofa.
“Look you don’t have to tell me what happened tonight with you and Namjoon… I’ll make you some tea and then you can get some rest.”
It was a quiet night; you barely exchanged a few words and went to sleep in Tae’s room. It was normal for you, except for that night. You had hard time falling asleep and constantly would glance at him as if you expected him to do something, but he kept his distance, despite his own feelings for you. That night was all you thought about. Him kissing you, cuddling you. Your imagination of him sleeping with you plagued your mind, especially after that night.
You called him over because you really wanted to see him. It had nothing to do with Namjoon. Well, it kind of did but more so it was about Taehyung. You needed to get a few things off your chest, and it seemed easier talking with him because he just understood how you felt right away.
Taehyung knocks at your window and with one swift movement, he allows himself in the room right away.
“Alright, so what’s new Giulia? Did Namjoon forget to cancel a date or something?” he says, as he walks over to you and places himself beside you in bed.
“No. He’s been busy with work. We haven’t talked much lately,” is all that I say.
“Oh… Well, what’s wrong? Do you want me to call him and tell him, he needs to spend more time with you?”
You shake your head and try to find the right words, but nothing comes out of your mouth.
Head down, you just play with your fingers, finding it difficult to say what needs to be said.
As you were busy figuring out what to say, Taehyung found it excruciatingly difficult to look at you. His mind was cluttered with filthy thoughts. It didn’t help that you only wore an oversized white t-shirt, your nipples were visible and the way you sat next to him had clung the shirt to your upper thigh making him clear his throat. His pants felt constricting, but he tried so hard not to look aroused as he sat next to you.
He told himself that you only saw him as a friend and that was why you were comfortable enough to wear whatever you wanted in front of him especially in your own room.
Finally, the silence was gone once you decided to say, “I— well I called you here because…”
You look up at Taehyung, hoping it would make you feel better, but it only made things worse, so you went back to fiddling with your fingers before deciding to speak again. “I didn’t call you over because of Namjoon…”
Taehyung just gives a bewildered look. He wasn’t sure if he should be scared or if it was really you who called him over. You just never called him over unless it was about Namjoon. You were just always busy since you started dating Joon and so it never occurred to him that you’d call him over for anything else.
“What do you mean?” he mutters.
“I just… I called you because I need you.”
“Okay? Well I’m here. I still don’t understand what you mean?” he says with a questioning look.
“No, I need you.”
