"Don't think about anything
Don't even speak
Please just smile for me
I still can't believe it
Everything feels like a dream
Don't try to disappear
If I touch you I'm afraid you'd fly away or break" - BTS
He glances at the girl beside him momentarily, taking in her crazed and pale expression before turning his gaze back onto the winding and snowy roads, only the blazing headlights casting any sort of light in the thick night.
"Who's chasing us?"
She doesn't answer and continues to frantically whip her head back and forth as if to check for something.
Except that he doesn't see anything.
The young man only releases a frustrated sigh as they stop at a random red light and grips the steering wheel even tighter.
He scans the girl's tear stained face and smudged mascara as she uncomfortably pulls down her skirt that seems to be way too short and way too tight on her small and petite figure.
Without a word he reaches a hand to the backseat, but only to startle her and she winces. He hesitates before pulling out his spare jacket and draping it hastily over her bare thighs.
"You can't keep doing this. You can't keep calling me."
The girl bites her lip at his soft but still distant tone. She looks up to observe his side profile, his sharp jawline and his tall nose bridge, something that she had wanted to draw instantly upon meeting him at that damned school.
Sure, if she hadn't gone to that school maybe she wouldn't be in this fucked up situation. She wouldn't be miserable, she wouldn't have to cop the bullying and the pressure of being the elite.
But she wouldn't have met him either. He was just like her. And she liked that.
"I'm sorry," She tearfully whispers, her voice breaking.
"What do you mean?"
She can only shake her head, her eyes now unfocused again as she realises how unusually long they had stopped at this random and never ending-red light.
A snow storm was brewing and outside in the vast mountain and the sounds of wind tapping against the windows of the car only grew louder.
Before they can even comprehend it, a racing bright light sped at them.
And even her piercing scream couldn't be heard through the howling wind, and the crash that came when a truck had collided with their car.
At that moment, a blue butterfly lands on a young girl's window sill.
She smiled at its beauty and approaches her window, thinking nothing of the fact that it was the dead of night.
But the corner of her lips falter after she had realised that it hadn't flown in with flared wings but had fallen instead, its wings clipped.
