The letter arrives
It was a beautiful summer morning and a perfect day for a walk. It's was the warmest day in years. The sun's light filled every house with a slightly yellow look and the light wind was blowing through the leaves of every tree in every garden.
But James was still sleeping. James is a boy, with black hair and brown eyes. Basically, his left eye. His right eye is blue. He was not very tall and he was medium-weighted. Everything in his life was normal- he was getting kind of bored of it. He honestly thought that going to 6th grade wasn't going to be boring but it was proven that that wasn't really true. After some time, he woke up. However, he didn't move at all. He was just staring at nothing, not thinking anything. After some minutes, he fell off his bed, so he was forced to stand up. He slowly opened the door of his bedroom. He walked through and started walking down the stairs.
"Morning" he mumbled.
"Good morning sweetheart" said James's mother.
"Where's dad?" asked James while he was looking all over the room.
"He's at work" she answered.
"But it's summer!"
"I know James, but they needed him now because something happened and there aren't enough people there."
But James couldn't understand. He didn't know what his father's job was. He never asked. At least, that's what he remembers. He was going to ask but he was distracted because of a sound that was getting more and more annoying.
"Do... You hear that?" let out James.
"Yes, I do," said his mother.
"It's coming from over here," he said and opened the window. An owl flew through the window and sat on the kitchen table.
"What the..."
