Legend
Before the existence of Earth, there was Neverland. A parallel dimension, home to many creatures and also the first Neverland men and women. For millennia the inhabitants of Neverland lived in peace, but the humans of this peaceful world would grow sinister, greedy and violent. Not all, but most.
The first war of Neverland was started by a powerful pirate captain named James Hook. He became a great adversary to a young boy named Peter Pan, who was leader of a rebel group of children known as the lost boys. James Hook and his band of pirate thugs fought Pan and his lost boys for the better of seventy or eighty years, until Hook was finally defeated and his pirates cast out. After, all war had ended in Neverland and Pan was given full leadership of not only the lost boys, but every other human. The peace in Neverland wasn't to last though.
A decade later, two races of Neverland became unstable in a conquest over complete rule of their world. The small, charming and magical pixies from a place called Pixie Hollow had a hard time sharing Neverland with the beautiful and etiquette mer-people of the vast sea surrounding their land. Since before the war between Hook and Pan, the pixies grew very fond of the humans, and both pixies and humans stayed great allies. However, the mer-people were very sore with humans. The war had changed their outlook on the entire race of man. Mer-people were amongst the kindest and wisest creatures of Neverland, and to them war was ridiculous and meaningless, a behavior the mer-people feared the humans would bring upon themselves yet again, or worse, bring upon the rest of the gentle creatures that share their world.
Therefore, in a peaceful but swift attempt, the mer-people proposed government over the humans, since men and women were outnumbered to them about five to one. Initially, the humans agreed to a stable government, and took great interest in the proposals the mer-people offered to all creatures in Neverland, proposals of allegiance and harmony. Though the pixies believed in harmony, they did not believe it right for the mer-people to make the rules.
Over time, stability ended between pixies and mer-people. Pixies didn’t agree that half-human, half-fish beings, whose population lived under the sea, were fit to decide on the fates of land creatures, such as themselves. Though the humans and pixies were allies, humans would not side with one or the other in their efforts to govern Neverland. Humanity was well aware of the brewing hostility between pixies and mer-people, and chose not to get between the two races, and after years of frustrating argument and incompatibility, those two races reached the point of violent action against each other. A day came that was called the Outburst, in which pixies engaged the first battle against the mer-empire.
Although the mer-people put up a good fight that day, the concept of war still sickened them, and not long after the fight, after receiving endless threats of continued war from the pixies, the entire mer-empire came to a desperate ultimatum - to leave Neverland for good. War, no matter how big or small, seemed inevitable in Neverland, and the mer-people, with the help of humans, were able to leave promptly and take refuge in the second dimension. The doorway into the new world brought them to the planet Earth, a place covered mostly in oceans and seas, vast and deep, a world much larger than Neverland. There they could live inconspicuously amongst the earthling humans who lived on land. The ultimatum worked out, the mer-empire prospered on Earth, and Neverland became just an aggravating memory. Both pixies and mer-people stayed separated, and the races never heard anything of each other again.
