Prologue
We live in a world like no other. A world that has been hidden from you since birth, you would never have imagined this world existed. Well it does, it always has, you've just never seen it. We live in a realm where humans and monsters walk the earth as one; Ghouls, Fairies, Mermaids, Demons, Vampires...
We coexist.
The humans don't see us, the monsters; to them we look like ordinary human beings. In fact the Monsters don't exactly see the monsters either, we can sense whether someone is a human or a monster, but we don't know what type of creature they are. Well at least most of us don't.
I happen to be one of very few who have the sight. You see, every creature has a physical characteristic that shows what creature they are, and this is what I see. Maybe it's better that way, for everyone to look normal to each other, except the chosen few, that way we can live in harmony.
I, of course, thought I would never have a problem in my life, being an Empath mind reader tends to get me out of a lot of trouble- Especially as my ability remains unknown to my parents. But I stopped thinking that, the day I read my sister's mind...regardless of the trauma, nothing could have ever prepared me for Mei.
