Let Him Speak

You hold hands and light up skies with your affection

Both send wishes to galaxies, the universe listens

Picnics and movie tickets, captions on naughty pictures

It is all paradise, superfluo paragraphs

But in love pain is inevitable

There are days your words won't mean anything

Days where your lips won't cease his queries

Because one day your worlds will collide, into a new beginning

Trust will be tested and loyalty threatened

Let him speak, if needs be

Do not reject his request to question your intentions

Do not let words succumb in his mouth, let him speak

Pay him attention as he unfolds his stories

How the past has hurt him severely

Understand if he questions his position with you

It is not insufficient trust, we all need assurance sometimes

So let him speak, do not let words succumb in his mouth

The concussion of your worlds, either grow you or destroy

He is not asking for your hand

If he kneels, go down with him, andk say after him

"Dear Lord..."
