The Family Business

There was always something I'd see flash in my father's eyes. Was it remorse? Regret? It was some sort of sadness. But I couldn't guess what he was so sad about.

Anyway, my father taught me everything I know. He's a cool guy and a great friend too. It's a wonder my grandparents raised him. They have nothing in common! Apparently they used to hunt ghosts. Yeah, you heard me correctly: hunt ghosts. Don't ask me why they thought ghosts even existed. My dad and mom don't seem to think they do. Anyway, my dad works at Best Buy as a manager. That was never his dream job though… He always wanted to be an astronaut. Which would've been cool, but apparently things didn't work out the way he planned. And that's – I'm guessing – the reason for the sadness in his eyes… But I don't believe he could be that sad about something like a missed opportunity. It's not like he's jobless. My mom works as a stay-at-home-mom. She's one of those cool moms who everyone wishes they had. But as awesome as my parents are, I, unfortunately, did not get those genes. I'm a nerd – well, my dad's a nerd, but it's different, he's an old nerd – and I have two friends. Yeah, I know, I really need more friends. Their names are Charlie and Nicholas. They're nerds like me. And also, I can't talk to girls. It's not that I choose not to; I really can't… My social skills suck… I guess that's the reason I only have two friends… It isn't fair. When my parents were in their senior year of high school, they were some of the most popular kids in school. I don't know what happened. Maybe once I finish puberty people will think I'm cool… Ugh, I'm hopeless.

So about me… I have black hair – duh, both of my parents have black hair – and purple eyes like my mom. I'm average height, live in Dallas, Texas, and NO, I don't ride a horse to school. No one does. My parents are originally from New York anyway, so I'm not really a Texan. I spend half of the time playing video games, a quarter of it doing homework and going to school, and the other quarter of it eating, sleeping, breathing, etc. My dad's name is Danny Fenton, and my mom's name is Sam Fenton, and I'm Phillip Daniel Fenton (but everyone calls me Phil). And yes, my initials spell out PDF. *Sigh* maybe I was destined to be a freak.
