"Hard Science fiction in the best of the old traditions. Elements of the Man who sold the moon, The moon is a harsh mistress and Rocketshp Galileo. Any fan of Heinlein will find this enjoyable. Fans of L. Neil Smith, David Weber, John Ringo, will enjoy this as well. The economics, drive the politics, and the resulting natural conflict creates a thoroughly organic tension development. Well thought out and organic in execution makes the suspension of disbelief easy. I appreciate the execution of the socio economic conflict elements! The author presents the competing systems and uses the natural conflicts without being " preachy". It is a pleasure to read Science Fiction from an author that actually has a clue as to the mechanics of economics and the sociological impact of same. I look forward to more! I hope this is the beginning of a series of more than two books! I can easily see room for three or four volumes without exhausting the basic premise or being repetitive. "

Very enjoyable read

"If you like Arthur C. Clarke's Odyssey, especially The Final Odyssey, then you will probably also enjoy this book. I definitely did. It does, however, address a more adolescent public than the above-mentioned book. I enjoyed the story and finished it in a few days. The overall situation on earth and space is well described and the story and the way it evolves is highly plausible. Although this is science fiction, the story focusses on classical "growing up" themes like moving somewhere else and what this does to a family and what opportunities this opens to all concerned. It's a great adventure story with political intrigues and a story about friendship and love."

"The story is great, but I would have liked more story and less description of peoples length, more about the game instead of the mechanics of the computersystems. In short more about the people than the systems. I know this might be essentail to the story but it makes from a less enjoyable read. I did enjoy the plot and I'll continue to follow this story."

Too many details

"In the the first chapter, I thought "Wow so many details, the author has really created a new world and is showing us all like in a movie, impressive, great.." But then characters started to appear, the story was supposed to start, yet paragraphs and paragraphs on absolutely unnecessary details kept coming in the way, clouding the important stuff... A few more chapters and I started scrolling, skeeping all the length to try and find the story hidden between them! I might have lost a few interesting points in the process but the thing was seriously unpalatable at some points. When you introduce a new character that is really secondary, there is no need for is ancestry and all his siblings and curriculum vitae ahead of saying "hello"! I am a reader not a writer, but my guess is: if when 2 characters are in a dialogue and when one answers as a reader you can't remember what the question was, there's a problem! This is a novel, not an acting script, no need to write all the postures and reactions of everybody around! Especially with comments as he had noting to say to this or he was not surprised You're meant to bring the reader in the story to experience the surprise, the love, the betrayal or whatever is happening to your characters, not to describe it as if a report. Apart from this huge set back in the writing, I kept going because of the universe and story, but re-write the thing, shorten it drastically, let the characters express themselves and then you'll have a great book! I am sorry if my comment comes across as negative, that is not my goal, I only mean to be sincere of what that possibly great story deserves. "

Not a bad read

"slow start to this book as a series. It's well written and worth reading however, the author tries to over load the reader with to many details. Overall it's a very well written book. The author needs to let the reader enjoy the material and not give so much details about miscellaneous surroundings. "
