Chapter 1

Amelia’s POV

My life was basically planned out ever since my parents knew that I was capable of studying and accepted the fact that I had brains.

Don’t get me wrong ,I was no nerd ,I just had it. I got a 90 percent in tenth grade and a 83 percent in my twelfth grade final exams. I had no idea what to do with my life but for others everything seemed perfectly fine. They knew what to do and when.

When my parents asked me , I was completely blank and that was how they came with the idea for me to study medicine.

One thing that I never wanted to study. It was always med school or engineering and that too by force. That made me and my parents have rocky patch between us.

But I won’t blame them. Parents are known for doing only the best for their kids without asking their opinion.

So back to where I was, once I had completed high school, I applied for one of the reputed universities in Poland to study MBBS.

Why study in a different country while there are loads of better universities in the states you ask? I was so done replying it to everyone so I’ll tell you for the final time.

I wanted to be far away from my parents, far away from their lectures and far away from their expectations. What do I get out of this? Freedom , freedom of choices and preferences.

Like I told you before, I never wanted to become a doctor, now neither. When I said about my preference to study something related to Forensic science, the first thing that my dad asked was “Do you think that studying something like that will provide you with enough money in the future years?”

What came from my mouth shut his.” What about happiness? Do you think becoming a doctor and earnings loads would satisfy me? Would give me a peace of mind? Maybe you but not me”.

So we decided instead of argueing we would have a deal. I do a medical degree and he would allow me to do a master degree in Forensic science.

I had to agree as long as I was away from them.

Obsidian: He's hilarious. Like, actually. I loved it. You're writing style is great, although you could do with a few less murmurs and mutters. I know it sounds critical, but I have the same problem and I hate it. Overall, it was one of the best stories I've read on here so far. I liked it better than those M...
