Every midnight, when everyone is sleeping soundly in their beds, hidden creatures come out into the moonlight, blending into the darkness to take over, torture, or kill. These creatures were once humans, but they, too, got swallowed up by the darkness and cursed upon. These ill-fated humans turn into creatures at night and plan to take over.
