Capter one In many ways
I am not a
morning person,but at this point I have to change that about me. The sound of my alarm woke me up at 6:30 and reached for it , put it off and layed back down "just five more minutes'' I said to myself.
"I am so sure I heard your alarm, so wake up sleepy head" my friend Erica shouted through the door
"Just five more minutes and am up" I shouted back
"Do I need to remind you that today is your first day of work,and need to make a good impression."
That statement work up all of my
senses and I was of my bed the next minute, how the did I forget about that. This was already a bad sign and I can not let anything bad happen on my first day.I quickly took my bath, brushed my teeth and attended to my girl flu. Walking out of the shower I did my put on my dress, got my hair and makeup done.
I rushed out the door, headed for the kitchen to get some cereal.
"Lexi slow down,you won't be a PA anymore if you choke yourself to death" Erica said with a concerned look on her face.
"Like you said, I need to make a Good impression" I said mumbling the words in my mouth.
"But not kill yourself"she said pointing at me making sure her point was noted
"Rica am scared ok, I don't know if my boss is mean or nice, I don't know what he looks like either"
"You don't?, that's why search machine exist you Know"she said flying her phone in my face "you are going to be fine, you have about an hour more to get there"
I put my plate away,took my bag and used my hands to ask if I was good to go.
"Baby you are perfect" she said
"Why was I appointed as a PA?" I ask to no one in particular as I worked through the door.
About half an hour I was inside the elevator to my about to be work place and I was so greatful I was the only one in the elevator, which gave me time to cool down. But the ding of the elevator brought back all the fear.
I worked into trueholdings Inc and at that moment I froze, everybody was so busy with whatever they were doing. I started working to the receptionist table and I could fell how heavy my shoes were,at that moment I became aware of everything around me. I have been here before but today it seemed different but nothing changed, all my senses were extremely high and conscious.
"Nice to see you again Lexi" the receptionist said
"You too Rosa" I said trying to put up a face.
"Relax,the tension is written all over your face" she said with a smile
"Thanks" I replied feeling a bit relaxed
"Ruth,pls take her to the new PA office" she said stoping a should have been a model blonde.
"No problem ma,come with me"she said flying her hand at my direction
I followed her until she showed me my office and and walked away. The moment I set eyes on my office I loved it. I started to arrange my office and then all of a sudden a young man walked in and dropped a pile of papers on my table without even looking at me and started to walk away, I turned around furious and started to follow him.
"Who the hell do you think you are?"I shouted at him
"Excuse me?" He answered confused
"you just dropped a pile of papers on my table and started to walk away like I'm nobody without acknowledging me"
"So ?"
"A simple hey will be acceptable, don't you think?" I said out of anger
"Who are you?"
"The new personal assistant, and because I am now that does not give you the right to just be rude to me like I'm nobody"
He looked at me form head to toe and again like I was some strange being.
"Do you know who I am?"
"Yes I do, you are an asshole,who thinks because he has been here for long can just be rude to everyone"
Then I heard the foot's steps of someone and Rosa came in view.
"Oh, I see you meet the boss"
"Boss?" I asked confused
"Yes, Liam here is the CEO of this company"
I could hear my spirit scream "you are fired". How did I not notice the expensive outfit and perfume smell.
"Rosa what is it?" He asked without taking his eyes of me.
" You have an interview,sir" Rosa replied with a hit of authority.
"Give me five more minutes" he said finally taking his eyes of me and looking at Rosa
"Ok,sir" she said with the same authority voice.
I watched Rosa leave wishing she did not as I turned my head back to look at Liam I noticed he was now closer to me,he bent down a little until he was close to my right ear and said.
"Asshole right,you are going to find out how Good ofan asshole I am"
"I can explain, I thought you......"
"A worker, I understand"he said interrupting me.
"You do?"I said relaxed.
"Yes but you are going to pay for calling me an asshole"he said and smiled and started to walk away but stopped when he was a little far away from me."in different ways mark my words. He smiled a mysterious smile before walking away again.
I could not wait to go home and tell Erica that my make a good impression turned into a big mouth impression.
