Prologue The Curse and The Alliance
Centuries ago before the Alliance....
The witch stared at the cauldron with delight. Never before had she casted a curse so powerful to take an entire kingdom.
The thought of King Robert and his kingdom in their true forms gave her a sick kind of pleasure that only a truly wicked witch would understand.
She wasn't always this way.
She was once considered to be very beautiful.
Her hair was once as yellow as the sun, now vile and black as the night sky.
Her light blue eyes, that had once shown oceans in there depths, now only reflected the darkness within. The light that was there, was there no more.
She was loved once, she had many suitors and admirers to keep her entertained, however none interested her as much as the king. The day she got the King's attention was the best day of her life, however that all changed the day the king announced his betrothal to another woman.
That was the day, Beloved the witch truly became wicked. She became green with envy, her eyes lost their lovely sweet glow, replaced by anger and rage. A rage so powerful that it helped ignite the curse which gave her so much delight. A curse which would not just imprison the King's children but his grandchildren's children forever.
Beloved's eyes wondered upon her last and final ingredient when the oak door to her secret layer was suddenly flying off its hinges, destroying half of her potions, and making her favorite potion fly into the cauldron, changing the mist from dead black to a beautiful emerald jade.
"NO!" The witch cried in a mad fury!
Soldiers from the Northern Kingdom came barging through the doors, swords pointed directly at the witch's throat, ignoring her rage. The King was the last to enter the room. He stood tall and without fear, for he knew what the witch had planned with the help of a spy he forced to watch her.
"What have you casted witch?" his voice bellowed angrily as he drew out his sword. She just looked at the cauldron for a moment before answering.
"A curse so powerful that it will take your entire kingdom and turn them into the beast you all really are." With that she laughed a clacking laugh which made some of the men flinch and shudder. Their swords pointed directly at her throat didn't waver.
"How do you stop it? Tell me!!" He yelled with power and command that even had the witch shuddering.
"You can't stop it, no one can. Once a curse is in place no one can stop it! You're too late! You're too late!" she laughed again, but was stopped by King Robert's Blade slicing open her throat and letting the black blood streak down. His soldiers just let him, watching the witch fall was like an answer to their prayers.
The captain stepped up while the King was cleaning off his blackened sword, his look of concern reflected every soliders' look in the room despite their relief of the witch's demise. Her words still echoed in the room.
"My King, what can we do? Is there any way to stop this wicked curse?" the king just looked up at the captain and with a dead voice spoke.
"No Captain, there is nothing we can do, you heard Beloved. You and I both know that she is forbidden to tell a lie, so no Captain, our only option is to wait and hope for a miracle."
Right at that very same moment, the emerald mist started to leak from the cauldron and the hope that was felt for a brief moment was lost in the chaos of the emerald mist.
Centuries Later....
After the Northern Kingdom disappeared, the Southern Kingdom lost their greatest ally. Not long after the northern kingdom fell, the alliance between all Magical creatures and the kingdoms crumpled. Attacks started from the West, in the forest where humans were forbidden to roam.
The King of the Southern Kingdom, King Steven, immediately declared war after ten attacks from the west.
The war lasted for decades, no side could win and no side could lose.
Many were lost, and many young were drafted to fight in the never ending battle.
Parents hid their children in hopes of pleading with the men that would take them. Families were split and the once great kingdom wasn't so great anymore.
It all changed one day...
When a young boy by the name of Peter decided to go North-toward the Forbidden Northern Kingdom.
Forbidden only because of rumors of beasts that were so big and so large in size that they could swallow a whole house and still be hungry-as well as fly above the tallest tower with wings that dwarfed everything.
Peter was more afraid of the army stealing him to fight rather than the rumors spread by the many travelers who dared travel north.
So he went alone, not giving the rumors another thought, until suddenly he heard something in the sky above him. A screech so loud Peter had to cover his ears.
Landing in front of him was the biggest beast Peter had ever seen. It's claws were the size of the biggest haystack, it's head was the size of the biggest house, and it's eyes were so black you could see yourself in them, as if looking through a mirror.
Peter, afraid beyond believe, screamed and tried to run, but this beast, this dragon, knew Peter was different.
The beast grabbed him with her claws before he was out of reach and she, with what little magic she possessed gave him the gift of tongue, by placing her lips upon his forehead while he struggled to be free of her.
" You have nothing to fear little boy. I will not harm you." She said to the boy in his mind. He froze, unsure of what to do. Then he spoke, small at first but then rose his voice so that he could be heard by the beast.
"Who are you...? What do you want?!?"
" My people need help and...I need your help."
And so it began, the alliance between man and Beast.
