"Get her" the guy yells. A smirk plays on my face as I swing from tree to tree.
Using my blade I cut a branch as I leap hitting him in the head knocking him down and giving me a chance to run and cross the pack border. I continue my jog for another few hours.
My cabin is far from here. Finally I arrive by the creek. I called it ass creek because when I found it a deer was there ass perked drinking water.
Crossing the creek. I feel the cool water on my leg as the current of the water continues.
I pull my self up using a branch. My lower half completely soaked with frigid water. The creek isn't full this time of year.
I walk into my shelter. I live relatively alone. Once in a while, some of my other rouge friends come over or to the market about an hour from here.
You're probably asking what we're you doing in another pack? Well you see darling, I was getting a weapon my old one broke.
One needs a weapon to hunt. Or trade in my case. I've never liked killing animals. I trade wood or stone the creek has.
Sometimes I'll trade just to trade something else for it. You get how trade works.
I hear a knock on my door. I swing the door open and see Greta.
"Hey gret" I say she walks in with a cloak she's a witch.
"Did you run into a pack again?" She asks.
"Yeah pretty much those fucker really have it all" I say laughing. I take a bite of a candy bar a kid dropped in the pack when he saw me.
"Clint wanted to know if you had wood. He's willing to trade for a sandstone rock" she says.
I think about for a moment sandstone is good for sharpening blades.
"Add a pelt and you've got your self a deal" I say after a moment.
"We're desperate" she says handing me the big stone.
"I'll bring the pelt later" she says picking up a couple pieces and putting them on the cart.
"Hey Valentina I also need a red rock." She says exiting "later"
I close the door and lay down on my couch. I usually don't have time to rest some days.
I wonder what it would feel like to not care about food water or even roof. I have to constantly worry for my safety.
I hear a hideous scream course through the forest. I look outside and notice a lady running looking completely beaten And terrified. I walk outside swinging my door open.
I run outside. I motion her to come. She could be running from her captors or sex trafficked. Either way not a good outcome. I shove her inside along with my self.
"There coming. Please you've gotta help me" she says crying.
"Are they following you?" I ask she nods frantically.
"They have weapons he's going to kill me help me please" she says sobbing and begging. I quickly shove her into the kitchen.
"I'll deal with them just please stay here" I say I hear aggressive banging on my door.
I grab the knife I stole and open the door half way.
"This door cost me 150 pelts." I say angrily. I notice the armor. Shadow riff.
"We need to know if a young women has passed by. She is in trouble and we need to help her." He says
"I haven't seen a women. A deer maybe. I haven't gone out. Winters around the corner I need to focus on other situations" I say
"I only heard a scream. I went outside but I didn't see anything. Only foot prints leading that way" I say pointing to the direction I previously came from.
"Thank you. Have a good evening" the man says I nod closing the door.
I don't go back to her until I see them figures gone. After a couple minutes I go back to my kitchen.
"Are you okay?" I ask.
"Yes Thankyou you have no idea how long.." she says hugging me.
"What pack is this?" She says oblivious.
"This is no man land." I say informing her. Her eyes widen.
"You're a rouge" she says asking me. She doesn't seem bothered.
"Yeah. Here have some pourage. It's the only thing we have out here" I gave her some fromthe pot near the fire.
She happily drowns the liquid. "What's you're name?" I ask also having my dinner.
"I'm April" she says still eating. "I'm from the northern pack"
"Ahh the king of the north pack" I say the nickname the pack has gained.
"Yes. How far is that from here?" She asks.
"Well..the closet pack here is the southern pack" I say thinking.
"It's about 4 hours from here" I say sitting down by the fire. She follows along.
"Alpha Liam's pack!" She says relieved. "You know the alpha" I ask.
She nods. "Yes I do"
"I'll take you there tomorrow morning." I say. "As for cleaning and bathing. I don't think you'd like cold water. I'll warm some up in the morning"
She nods finishing up. I hand her a Large deers fur as a blanket and allow her to crash on the couch.
