Prologue
We meet eyes, the might of a storm against the cold of a blizzard. It’s a challenge, a promise, and a battle of wills.
We’re are both so different, yet so similar to each other it blows my mind.
He’s made to be a leader since birth, with a quick tongue that gets him into trouble as easily as it gets him out of trouble.
I on the other hand am just another servant girl, another faceless being to do what inconveniences the powerful.
He was always meant to be the one to save us all, and he won’t let it go. How can he when that’s all he was raised to be, all he was told he is?
But I’m the one. Not by choice, not by chance, but by fate. It’s not my fault the Elders didn’t interpret the prophecy the right way.
And now that I know, I won’t just let him doom us all. I won’t walk away this time. This time I’m being the stubborn girl that was always there, just worn down by years of strict control.
I am Whitefire. And he is not.
