A light in the Dark.
":Poetry... good poetry... is an unveiling of the author's inner emotions; exposing one's soul for the world to see; almost like undressing in public... which none of us would ever feel easy doing. In this case, with this author, it becomes a deeply personal experience for me. Clearly, there is no plot other than the overall tenor of the work. I can connect with this author through this poetry in a way I may not describe (it is too emotionally personal for me, which I find almost frightening). Poetry never did that for me before. Some poetry hits one, sensually, in this way, as in the third poem.... 'Burning Desire', did with me, I have now read it several times. I identify with its emotional tenderness. Later poems (5, 7, and 8) also caused me to feel occasional flashbacks to deeply loved parts of 'The Rubaiyat' of Omar Khayyam (Fitzgerald, first edition). The more I think about it, the more I want to go back and read more of it... poetry can be like that. I am not sure I dare say more than this.... I will go back and re-read this collection many times I think. Dear Sirenia, thank you for being able to put so much delicate and tender emotions of your own inner self, into this book of poems."
