GLOSSARY OF TERMS
The Abyss || An Endless Expanse: The dark and infinite realm beyond the earthly plane, often referred to as Lucifer’s Playground. A dimension existing parallel to the human world, filled with unimaginable horrors and mystical entities.
Perdition || Hell. Damnation. Doom: The infernal and torturous regions within The Abyss, synonymous with hell and eternal suffering. It is a place of doom and damnation for those condemned by the Keepers.
The Keepers || A Council That Governs The Creatures of The Abyss and Agents of The Abbey: An immortal council that holds dominion over the denizens of The Abyss and the operatives known as Agents of The Abbey. They are the authoritative force ensuring balance and order within their dominion.
Black Sanctum || A Space Existing Outside of Time and The Present, Away From Humans: A mystical space detached from the constraints of time and the human world. It serves as a refuge for beings seeking solace and secrecy, inaccessible to ordinary humans.
Labyrinth || A Black Sanctum Only High Tiers Can Enter: A specialized Black Sanctum accessible only to those holding the highest ranks, known as High Tiers. It provides an even more secluded and secure space for clandestine activities.
Mana || Power. Life Force: The mystical energy that fuels supernatural abilities and sustains the existence of entities within The Abyss. It is the life force harnessed by beings for various purposes, ranging from spell casting to enhancing physical prowess.
High Tiers || The Top Three Unknown, Known Ranks: The highest echelon of ranks within The Abyss, comprising the top three positions. These individuals possess unparalleled power and influence, and their identities remain shrouded in secrecy.
Guardians || Protectors of Divine Seals: Entities tasked with safeguarding the sacred seals that maintain the delicate balance between The Abyss and the human world. Guardians act as the first line of defence against malevolent forces seeking to breach the barriers.
KNOWN RANKS
Knights || Descendants of Lucifer, the dark and malevolent entities tasked with enforcing Lucifer’s will. Knights wield demonic powers and serve as formidable foot soldiers in The Abyss.
Royals || The aristocracy of The Abyss, possessing exceptional power and influence. Royals are leaders and strategists, guiding the lesser entities in their pursuits.
High Sage || Individuals with mastery over multiple forms of Mana, showcasing advanced abilities in spirit, fire, and soul manipulation. High Sages are revered for their versatility and strength.
Regent || Masters of mind and soul manipulation, Regents have the ability to control thoughts, emotions, and even souls. They are skilled sorcerers with potent psychic abilities.
King’s Guard || Elite summoners of great skill, King’s Guards can call forth powerful entities without the need for traditional spells. They rely on their innate connection with The Abyss to command otherworldly forces.
Sentinel || Combining physical prowess with mental manipulation, Sentinels are formidable warriors. They possess superhuman strength and can break the wills of their adversaries.
Vizier || Masters of power absorption, Viziers can assimilate abilities from other entities, gaining randomized strengths. Their adaptability makes them unpredictable in confrontations.
Mage || Practitioners of spell craft and curses, Mages command a variety of mystical incantations. They can summon creatures and cast spells to achieve various effects.
Specialist || Focused entities with expertise in a specific ability, Specialists excel in honing and maximizing the potential of a singular power.
Ensign || Entry-level entities with basic abilities. Ensigns are often limited to projecting energy blasts, marking the initial stage of their ascent within The Abyss.
UNKNOWN RANKS
Note: The following ranks remain shrouded in mystery, their nature, and abilities concealed even from those within The Abyss.
Eclipse Lords || Shadowy Executors of Unseen Will: Beings rumoured to carry out inscrutable orders, their motives veiled in shadows.
Obsidian Oracles || Seers of Unfathomable Futures: Entities with the ability to glimpse into the future, their visions influencing critical decisions within The Abyss.
Void Revenants || Silent Harbingers of Ultimate Desolation: Entities with the power to induce emptiness and desolation, their presence portending catastrophic events in The Abyss.
Celestial Guardians || Protectors of Humanity: Beings of light with the divine duty to safeguard humans from the malevolent forces of The Abyss. They intervene to prevent Knights from unlocking any divine seal.
Seraphic Sentinels || Celestial Enforcers of Balance: Entities with a dual nature, wielding powers of both light and darkness. They are intermediaries between the celestial and demonic realms, striving to maintain cosmic equilibrium.
OTHER RANKS
Templar || Elite guardians tasked with protecting the borders between The Abyss and the human world. Templars serve as messengers for The Keepers, delivering decrees and commands to entities within The Abyss and out in the human world.
Librarians || Knowledge keepers and scholars with expertise in Abyssal history, arcane lore, and mystical arts. Librarians play a crucial role in educating and advising the higher ranks on Abyssal matters.
Terror || Lingering entities created from the remnants of the deceased, Terrors are shadows that grow increasingly aggressive the longer they linger in the human world. They are the vengeful spirits of the departed.
Entity || Shapeless and malevolent entities that escape from The Abyss to the human world. Entities are ominous shadows that can manifest into various forms, representing the primal darkness of The Abyss.
Carter || Experienced leaders who oversee and guide a Cadre, a unit, or a team of six agents affiliated with either The Abyss or The Abbey. Carters hold significant responsibility for the actions and efficiency of their respective Cadres.
Cadre || Specialized teams comprising six agents, either from The Abyss or The Abbey, working together to accomplish specific missions. Cadres demonstrate synergy and coordination in the pursuit of their objectives.
Ephemeral Wisps || Luminescent beings that manifest as gentle lights within The Abyss. Ephemeral Wisps act as guides, leading lost entities to safety or guiding agents through the labyrinthine paths of the Abyss.
Abyssal Wardens || Towering entities with colossal wings, Abyssal Wardens guard sacred portals that connect The Abyss to distant realms. They possess the ability to seal or open these portals, maintaining the delicate balance between worlds.
Veilstalkers || Stealthy and enigmatic entities that move as shadows within the Veil, a concealed realm within The Abyss. Veilstalkers silently observe the activities of other entities and report to higher authorities when necessary.
Lunar Seraphs || Beings of light with iridescent wings, Lunar Seraphs descend into Perdition to protect vulnerable human souls from malevolent forces.
Golems || Golems are towering constructs created and controlled by powerful sorcery, composed of dark, swirling energy intricately shaped into a humanoid form.
