Chapter 1
Aliyana looked down at her dress and sighed as she straightened her skirt. It was a beautiful dress of blood red with black lace trimmings, one of the most expensive money could buy; and yet Aliyana was displeased. The dress was loud, stuffy and pretentious, so it fit right into this crowd but she felt out of place at this party. It was a glitzy fund raiser put on by the wife of a member of parliament for wards of the state located in Westmoreland, Jamaica. Cocktails were being enjoyed, champagne sipped and laughter around but she was anything but happy. The air stunk with flamboyancy; one of the outfits worn by anyone there could feed at least five of the children at home for months. She rolled her eyes and seethed. Could the evening get any worst for her. Then her husband came beside her and put his arm around her waist; giving her a light squeeze.
" Are you okay, nana?” he asked.
Aliyana flinched inwardly and fought the urge to shove him away. She hated when her husband called her that but she smiled and ignored it as she always did. Her thought it was cute term of endearment, that made the appear to be closer.
" I’m well..... just a bit tired.”
He looked her over, and furrowed his brow as he silently scrutinizing,
“You look elegant, so exquisite and your hair isn’t bad either. I still wish you would straighten it though. We'll leave soon so you can rest. In about 30 minutes okay?”
She rolled her eyes, before giving him a weak smile and walked out through the side doors of the ballroom of the Hilton, New Kingston. She was tired of Robert’s attitude always scrutinizing her, when he thought no one was watching and then sickly sweet pretentious way her 'showed' his love and affection towards her. They both knew why they got married in the first place, it was most certainly not love. She still could get over the fact she was married to this lecherous vampire. What did she do in a past life to deserve this. She sat on a bench in the garden and reflected on her sad sod of a life. The flowers in the garden seem lush and happy. She picked at the leaves and flowers.
” May I join you?” said a deep smooth voice that caused Aliyana to jump.
“I... I. didn’t see anyone....”
“Its okay... I apologize I startled you” She saw a figure walking towards the bench.
“Go.. good night” Aliyana squinted trying to see the stranger’s face. Aliyana looked at the figure from head to toe. He wore a well tailored suit with a charming smile to match it.
" Mrs. Denver’s I can’t believe you have forgotten me. I am Ian.”
She still looked puzzled,
“You came to poetry night at Eden’s and we met afterwards?”
" Oh I remember you now,” she blushed, ” You performed at open mic night, you are Mystic, right?”
"I remember you quite well,” Ian said, “how can I forget you?” he drawled and ran his gaze over her body and his eyes settled on the swell of her bosoms that peeped just above her bodice.
She noticed, remembering when he used a lot more than his eyes on her breast and flushed, she stood quickly and turned around and cleared her throat.
” I .. uhm.. enjoyed your poetry. Do you still write?”
“I’m sure you enjoyed a lot more than my poetry that night I wish I could have given you more and yes I do, in my spare time but like your husband I have entered politics too.....”
“Really...?” Aliyana asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
” No.. Allie, let's not talk business. I can’t believe I ran into you here, but I am glad I did. Do you remember the night we met?” as he said that he stood behind her and kissed her softly.
Aliyana gasped which only allowed his tongue to go into her mouth deeper. She pushed him of and slapped him.
" What do you think you’re doing?” she yelled. She realized she yelled and started to whisper, “You cannot do that.”
He held his cheek and smiled “Just as good as the first time, and I would like a reminder of how your lips taste, ” He wagged his lips as he said the word lips.
“That was 4 months ago and I never thought I would see you again. I made a mistake.”
” Allie, we were destined to meet again, the universe doesn't make mistakes. You have no idea how I’m happy to see you, I want to show you a lot more than what you allowed me to do that night.”
She felt her heart racing, she tingled every time he used that nickname. She made the mistake of going with her best friend to Eden’s for poetry night and was so mesmerized by the poet Mystic. He gave her the best oral sex of her life, she was so frightened she had allowed it, she ran out of the club. She vowed never to go back to that club and never see Mystic again.
“I’m a married women...” she began,
" and I don’t care, I’m gonna have you Allie.” Ian smiled laughing deep the sound reverberating across Allie’s chest. She stood there speechless.
“Nana!?” she turned around towards the ballroom doors and saw her 57 year old husband walking around the gardens
“Yes... I am over here...” she said, then Ian grabbed her arm and kissed her on the cheek and whispered, “I’ll be seeing you Allie.”
Aliyana watched breathlessly as he strode away in the opposite direction.
