Before Season 1 Part 1

~I’m not a particularly good storyteller, but I’ll try my best. I DON’T OWN ANYTHING EXCEPT FOR PHILOMENA, JULIE, AND THIS~

Dracula’s descendant, Adrian “Alucard” Ţepeş, ascended the steps towards the west wing of his father’s castle. This wing of the castle was seemingly darker than the rest. Even darker than the opposite wing where he resided. He followed the few candles that lit the way to his destination. Of the many rooms that were in the west wing, it had only one occupant.

A witch.

Once he stood at the witch’s door, he knocked three times. Several curses and rattling of objects could be heard from inside the room. Waiting for the door to open, he impatiently tapped his foot against the hard floor. Finally, it opened just a crack to reveal a dark-haired woman with brown eyes and skin. “What do you want?”

“How are you this evening?”

“What do you want?” she repeated, annoyed that he ignored her. She knew he was here for something important. For himself. Or his father. So, he should just spit it out and stop wasting her time. At least, the time she had left.

“Your precious help,” he purred with a toothy smile that showed his fangs. His long blonde hair fell over his shoulders as he leaned against the doorframe.

The witch scoffed. No shit. “With what? What kind of spell is it this time? Another love spell?”

The smile dropped from his face, and he glared at her. She raised an eyebrow at him in response.

Then, she didn’t do anything to stop him. A second later, he sped into her room like a spoiled brat. She left the door open a crack behind them and met him in the middle of the room with her arms crossed over her chest. “Well?”

“A summoning spell.”

“For?”

“To bring in an army from Hell.”

“No.”

“Excuse me? I - ”

She cut him off, opposing his request. “I don’t care. I won’t help you kill anyone. Even if they are vampire hunters.”

“I’ll kill her, and you’ll witness it. And, we both know you wouldn’t want to lose your only friend here,” he told her in a malicious tone and began to close the distance between them. Every step he took towards her, she took back. Eventually, he had her backed into a corner of the room. His eyes were glowing red and full of sin. “Can you do it?”

“I’ve never done anything like it before. I’ll need the correct herbs...” The witch responded hesitantly. Not as challenging as she was before. A sharp gasp escaped from Philomena’s lips as Alucard grabbed her forearm roughly enough to cause more bruising than any human could. “I don’t need you wasting my time. You need to start now. I’ll get you everything you need for the damn spell.” He let go of her arm, of course, leaving more than just a bruise, and left towards the entrance of her room.

“Does Julie know what you’re planning? Your dark secret?” Philomena challenged Alucard. The half-vampire halted in his steps and turned back around to face her. She gave out a small laugh, even as she held her forearm to her chest in pain. “She’ll never forgive you. Not after you’ve gained so much of her trust. You love her and she’ll leave you, just like everyone else,” she spoke with powerful venom in the tone of her voice.

After a few moments of silence, he said, “You’re wrong. The girl is useless, a pawn in my game. I don’t love her. And she doesn’t matter to me. What matters to me is that you accomplish this spell.” Alucard grabbed a jar of crimson liquid off one of the shelves along the wall. Blood. Human blood. He shook it around a little before setting it down on the table near Philomena.

Looking at her dead in the eyes, he told her, “You are useful to me. So begin, or your family will be burned at the stake next.”

She watched as the son of Dracula left her room with hatred and rage in her bronze eyes.

In the darkened hallway hid the king of vampires, who had just heard and seen everything. And thought he went by unnoticed.
