Greatest Book of All ‘Time’ (lol time travel joke 😆)
"I remember reading one of the time trilogy books last year, and I was especially pleased by how the concept of time travel was handled in the previous book. The third book in the trilogy, however, while leading a separate story, is quite ambitious with its aims and its approach towards time travel. Along with the expected romance that I unfortunately didn’t reach yet, the premise is intriguing. In the far future, at the year 3587 AD, Armas, a prominent Time Travel Scientist, is sentenced to prison, and his adopted son and student Jonas, another Time Travel Scientist, is sentenced to death. He’s on the run for his life, and while in hiding, he comes across his father’s journal, in which he uncovers the conspiracy unfolding before him, a secret plot to rewrite history and alter the future (I won’t get into so much details regarding that because I already spoiled enough 😅). Now it’s up to Jonas to thwart this plot and save the future all while being careful not to alter the future himself. I was going to tell a time travel joke, but you didn't really like it, Gwen (that line itself is a time travel joke lol 🤭). In any case, helping him out is the TPD (Time Prediction Device), which will help him figure out the consequences of any choice he makes, a very interesting addition indeed that opens up a lot of possibilities. What if altering the future is inevitable? What if saving a loved one from a cruel fate will somehow invariably result in a much-changed future? I consider the last one very likely because... of course such drama is necessary 😏. In any case, I’m feeling quite hyped for what comes next! As I’ve read three of your books (counting this one), the writing style never loses its ‘Gweny’ quality, especially not in this book. It’s still very much enamoring as ever. Overall, that’s your best book yet in my eyes, and as always, it’s a pleasure to read your work, Gwen 😄."
A Big Hit in Time
"Tightly written with enough twist and turns that makes the reader wanting to time travel to keep up with the adventure and excitement 😀 "
Time Traveler Review
"I was immediately swept into the story. Read right past the first five chapters and now I am hooked. The author’s writing style is easy to follow. Jonas is a well developed character and his father’s instructions set out a very ambitious plan to save their nation from a power thirsty politician. The ethics of time travel are about to be perverted by an ambitious man who wants to dominated the world. Jonas is the only person with the skills and the ability to save the world from a dictator who wants to rule everything. I can’t wait to get back to this book. Keep the chapters coming. I want to see if Jonas can avert the disaster his father has predicted. "
A read that's definitely worth your time!
"From the very first chapter, this story had me hooked. It reads very smooth and is obviously polished when it comes to editing, plot and character development. Time travel is an interesting and controversial topic that may or may not appeal to everyone, but I can say with certainty that this author has put quite a lot of thought into how it can be used to not only move the story along, but speak to the ramifications time travel can have—not only in general—but if it were to be controlled by the government for militaristic use. The main characters of Armas and Jonas Falco are strong, credible, and the dialogue utilized for both really fleshes them out and makes them seem real. The action starts right out of the gate, and while there is a nineteen year “time jump” between the first and second chapter, the action never really stops and the story development only deepens. While this is the third installment in the Time Trilogy, it is a strong stand alone. I highly recommend it if you are a fan of fantasy, science fiction, and adventure, because it is definitely worth your time. NOTE: The review down below is for Round 2 of the Green Exchange Awards 2024: Time travel has always been a source of intrigue for me: what would happen if I could go back in time or to the future? Would the slightest action or inaction on my part irrevocably alter the future, and if so, to what extent? Armas no doubt faced a similar dilemma while experimenting with such a concept, but scientist or no, it was a very human gesture that just may have impacted the future in a big way. I won’t give away any spoilers, but when I read what this action was I was genuinely surprised, and I had a head-smacking moment where I thought, “Of course. It all makes sense now!” The Time Traveler is the third installment in this trilogy, but it works well as a standalone. As a trained anthropologist, history buff, and overall science fiction nerd, this book caters to all of those tastes and then some. NOTE: The review below is for Round 3 of the Green Exchange Awards 2024: What can I say that I haven’t already said before? This story has everything a reader could possibly want: well-written, believable characters, a finely-detailed plot, great world-building, and of course, time travel! Even if you are not into that particular aspect of sci-fi, lovers of adventure and just good, solid stories will want to check this one out. It reads well as a stand-alone, but if this one is any indication, the other two stories in the Time Traveler are bound to be worth checking out as well. "
GEA Review :)!
"It’s normally hard for me to find unique books surrounding sci-fi and futuristic elements but boy this one had me hooked from the prologue!! I loved the immediate sense of timeline & location because it began the immersion for me. Further on I noticed great and impressive use of vocabularies – it upped the realistic, profession-wise dialogues that came with the descriptivity and I personally thought, reading through, that it was so impressive. The chapters begin with well-versed anticipation and it’s seriously enough for me, a picky reader, to feel all giddy!!! I’ll hand that to you as an achievement because I dream to pull that put of a reader too!!! All in all, I will say the sequence between the first and second chapters is my absolute favorite. Every fold of the chapters were full of weaving anticipation!!! Chapter two made me wants to binge the entire series and I rarely feel so strongly about adventure stories so I’m genuinely glad to have found this! Your writing is super-duper underrated, I hope you get the recognition it deserves :) The sentence choices, descriptivity, tenses and everything felt spectacular and balanced to me, and I’m genuinely so invested in the book! I’m no bigshot myself and if anything, I can barely write, but I hope my review can convince you to write more!! Please keep up the splendid work 😊 "
GEA Review!
"Reading this story for the GEA was such a fun experience. We're introduced to another world and the concept of time travel through our main character Jonas, who has a compelling backstory in his own right! (which I will not say for spoilers). I adore the time travel concepts used here - the time predictor device especially, but all the rules feel very carefully thought out and make sense for this world - of course you can't travel to the future, it hasn't happened yet! Stuff like that. The time travel (and everything that can go wrong with it) add such great stakes to what is already a perilous journey for Jonas and it totally got me invested. Also I live for him and Melia, and the little anecdotes to our time period just add that extra enjoyment to things. Third person present tense is used for the POV, and it is such a good use of the perspective and suits the story wonderfully. The voices feel distinct as well with the different perspectives used (and the journal 100% feels like Armas's voice) and the grammar mishaps were few and far between. If you are a lover of time travel or just an incredibly well crafted story, this is the book for you!! Really fantastic job :) "
The Time Traveller
"This tale has interesting, engaging and complex lead characters, Jonas and Melia. The exchanges between them are appealing and refreshing. Neolithic and present-day or future environments are credible and well-described. A strength of the story is the characters’ inner dialogue, the choices they face and the implications of their decisions. An adventure/romance worth delving into."
The time traveler is from another dimension
"This book with the previous two, are out of this world. Gwen surely has a great imagination. I love it. Everyone should read it. 😻 Ma shaa Allah 😻 "
Green Exchange Awards Review (2024)
"The author appears to be a seasoned writer and has made this story as a standalone read as well as part of the series – the covers all interlink with a lightening bolt that runs through all three. I have not read the other two stories and am not familiar with the time travel concept as a storyline: I found myself distracted and questioning why it would only take fifteen minutes to drive from London to Swindon (chapter 3) if it is 130km – not thinking that the vehicle may travel in hyper speed mode, as it was not explained. Other than that, it was a very good read for someone who would not normally read this genre."
A Wonderful Beginning (GEA 2024)
"I've been meaning to pick this up for awhile and it did not disappoint. The plot immediately pulls you in from the minute, wondering what Armas did, what did he develop, and why is Jonas involved. Gwen's done a great job in answering this through the first five chapters, spaced out in a natural way, like the reader is getting pulled along. Like always, the technical aspects are impeccable, just one moment where there weren't spaces in the first letter following periods--unless it was stylistic. The characters--Jonas, Armas, and Valerie--are so distinct and feel so real already. Dialogue is so strong and has helped build the character so well. Even the letter, the little stylistic choices read like Armas. And him apologizing to Jonas there, my heart oh my gosh! Still I wonder how the prologue applies to the story. Bet Gwen has such an interesting plot twist already planned. You've built such good suspense from page one and it kept me hooked, read over 30 pages without realizing it. Can't wait to continue on and find out what happens next!"
