His Little Doctor

Another “glorious” morning I thought to myself as my alarm went off. So I decided to get out of bed and get started with my day. I started with a shower, shaved, and got dressed. after all of that, I made myself a latte and ate a butter croissant, all while watching the news.

Although today I didn’t pay much attention to the news, because it was time for me to leave for work. I am a pediatrician, and I work at the Children’s Hospital in Seattle. So I rushed to my black shiny black chevy camero. While driving to work my best friend, Rita texts me.

"Heyyyy girl!!! Just texting you to make sure we are still on for going out tonight.

I respond with "of course! why would I miss out on going to the most exclusive club in the whole northwest?!!?!"

"ok just make sure to be ready by 9 pm ok?" I respond with "ok"

I pull into the parking garage and prepared myself for a long day. I work with so many amazing kids every day today I met Julia; she is fifteen years old, and she was recently diagnosed with leukemia. Julia was devastated that she was missing her first year of high school because of cancer. So I promised that I would spend my lunch breaks with her every day that I was working. one day she asks "do you have a boyfriend?"

I was very embarrassed to tell her that at the age of twenty-six that I hadn't met or much less been dating anyone. So I responded with the truth " I have not seen anyone since college".

What I didn't tell her was that I was still a virgin and was waiting for the right person or marriage. That was how my parents raised me. As my shift came to an end, I checked my phone, and it was seven-thirty, so I started to pack up my things, and head out.

It was eight o'clock once I reached my apartment. So I quickly hopped into the shower took a fifteen-minute shower, moisturized my whole body, decided between three different outfits. When it came to making up I didn't use much, only for special occasions. So, I applied some mascara, eyeliner and, eyeshadow; because thankfully my skin is genetically clear. When I was all done, looked at myself in the mirror contemplating changing my hair and outfit but I decided to keep my natural curly black hair down. for my outfit, I decided on a little above knee-length red dress that had strips of red cloth crisscrossing over my chest and upper back with an open back resting right above my bottom.

It was at that moment that Rita pulled up in front of my building in her red Ferarri. Rita and I had known each other since we were in seventh grade. our history teacher had partnered us up with each other for a project. Back then I was very introverted and didn't talk much, and she was a part of the popular crowd. But she eventually broke me in and we have been close ever since.

Rita started honking her horn continuously, yelling "hurry up! were going to be late!"

"I'm coming as fast as I can! I'm wearing four-inch heels you know!" I said.

I got in the car and we sped off; listening to our favorite Spotify playlist and singing along. When we got to The Emerald Club there was a long line that snaked around the block. Luckily the new guy that Rita was dating was a VIP there, so the bouncer let us in when we told him our names.

As we entered the club the air became humid and the music louder with all the bodies dancing on the dance floor. Rita went to her boyfriend while I sat down at the bar. I had just ordered my drink when I was looking around the club when a set of hazel eyes made contact with my eyes. I looked at the rest of the beholder of those eyes, and he is very attractive with full lips with wavy chestnut-colored hair, tall well built, and with amazing fashion sense. I quickly looked away flushed with the knowledge that he was also scanning me up and down.

I got my drink and quickly walked toward where Rita was. "Having a good time Lea?" she asked. I nodded without telling her about the intense stare-off I had just had with the mystery guy. I quickly downed my drink before going out to the dance floor to enjoy myself. I was swaying my hips to the beat of the song when I felt strong hands on my waist. I quickly turned around to confront the man that was trying to grope me when I noticed it was the guy that I had been staring at earlier.

"Hello.. beautiful," he said.

I dumbfoundedly replied with; "hi".

"Mind if I dance with you?" he asked.

I shook my head and said "I don't mind" and then quickly turned around and resumed to dance with the hand
